Ive been sat at the computer for 4 hours now, still no store. Im kinda ready to give up. See I dont NEED an iPad, this is meant to be an impulse buy to justify spending the money. However you cant call sitting in front of a computer for 4 hours an 'impulse buy'.

Can give it a damned good go though.

I am not trolling but I tend to agree with some others that this does not look at all good. Its 10pm - Apart from people like us who will keep refreshing there must surely be less load on their servers now than 2 hours ago as more casual buyers will have been put off. Why has it not re-opened.... perhaps they will give the US the whole day of exclusive server access?

I got a funny feeling we may be in for a long haul here people.

We'll probably all know each other quite well by 4am :D.

How long is everyone giving it before they head to bed? Prob 11.00 for me but then I'll just lie in bed with my iPhone and iPad hitting refresh on those.

Well I've got a plan B where I can call in a favour and have one set aside for me on launch day at one of the local Apple stores here in London. It helps to have connections. LOL. That said it's a friend of someone I work with so I rather not unless I have to.

How come I'm here again ? Oh - can it be that Apple have come out with a new Shiny Thing that I absolutely must have ? :)

Wanting to pre order a 32gb 4G. I'm upgrading from a wifi only 1st gen ipad so it's worth it for me.

annoyed that I have been trying to order since 7pm.

I miss the Apple that was a Computer company, sorry but this is a joke, maybe the Apple tech department were not told of the little event today and to expect maybe a bit more traffic? Muppets.

In the Post PC era, its time for the Post Apple online store era, this crap of brining it down then to be hammered as soon as it goes up is a BS strategy. 3 hours the store is dead...

Awesome Hardware, Awesome design. **** internet implementation.... yup like thier iCloud services... a joke! Probably the same team that did mobile me has done applestore.

To temporarily increase capacity maybe 10x, even for a very short period (in fact, especially for a very short period) would be a very expensive thing for Apple to do. Especially when they will sell the initial batch of iPads within 48 hours max based on previous launches, so really there's no financial justification for doing so, it's not as if they're going to lose custom. They know that those who want an iPad will generally buy an iPad in the end, even if they have to wait.

Look on the bright side guys, at least Netflix UK have finally added some more films

Well i was always planning on buying the new Apple TV, but having seen the keynote I was going to fork out for the 32GB Wifi/4G iPad this evening too, again as with many others, purely on impulse.

Yet now I've had 4 ruddy hours to sit here and think about it, I won't be doing that now. I will wait and see the reports and have some hands on time with it in a store before I decide whether I'm going to upgrade from my current 32GB Wifi iPad 2

My biggest concern actually at present is that Gizmodo report on the 700mHz only LF LTE...if theres no 800mHz in there then I risk having to upgrade the damn thing again next year

Im also going to see how much I can get trade in for my iPad 2....currently 02 offering £275 - i expect that will be significantly less come tomorrow

Was hoping to pre-order the Black 32Gb Wifi model tonight, but it's looking unlikely right now. Probably be a waiting time by the time I can get on to order one tomorrow.

tad Harsh - most sites go down with demand - Olympics - Ticketmaster....

yeah maybe but they have also wasted 4 hours of my time :(

And given how smug they are about things just working.... this is a really really bad experience. They have put up the holding page for the online store in other words its not traffic, but they are refusing ALL connections. Seems they are waiting for people to go to sleep and then restart, and that is wasting peoples time. Though it makes sense as traffic will then increase at a steady rate instead of what they experienced at 1900.

At least the US store is up and coping badly with traffic, the UK store is plain off. Sorry but muppets.

Just so you guys know.
i Work in the electrical department at Tesco and we have been told that we will be selling the new ipad on launch day.
Tesco have secured this deal as apparently we now sell 20% of all the iPads sold in the UK.
Same pricing as apple + clubcard points :)

I don't have lectures til 1PM so I'll probably try to wait up till it goes live haha. Though I've been up since 6 and I'm starting to feel it :/

So far, watched the keynote, updated my iPhone, updated iTunes and currently updating my iPad. Hurry up.

Seriously. I'm starting to get annoyed now peeking at the US thread reading about how everyone is receiving confirmation emails as we speak.

Does anyone else find the name a bit "meehhh". It's seems they didn't watch the social network "thefacebook"

I have a lecture at 10:00 tomorrow morning, then an exam 11:00 - 12:30, then a practical exam tomorrow 14:00 - 14:45... DAMN IT.

So sick of seeing the sticky note now :( something's not right...
