People keep saying that the US site is fine, yet its been down just as long as the UK one for me
Assume so, although at this rate it's going to take quite a while to reach that limit!

So I've literally been sitting here for over 3 hours refreshing the store, and still nothing
REALLY Apple? After ALL these launches, they still manage to f up
And it seems to only be affecting the UK, seriously, what gives?

Interesting question for previous iPad people. Will the card be charged as soon as the order is placed as the americans are saying how the money is already taken. I don't have required money yet, eep.
My fiance is giving me "the look" (which is something pretty spectacular, considering the fact he is blind. lol ) Any minute now he is going to say, "You're not going to stay up to wait for pre orders are you ?", knowing full well I will.
By the time I have got this covered it will be waaaaay into the night I can tell, if at all tonight. Which will make tomorrow interesting.

I really don't want to fall a sleep and miss the pre-order window for the 16th. Neither do I have the time nor energy to queue or wonder around London in search for a new iPad.
I must get my order through tonight and won't go to bed before that it done. I'm sick any ways and won't be going to work tomorrow so I'm all good.

I'll be getting up at 7am normal time and trying again then. I'd be really shocked if the first batch of UK pre-orders are all snapped up in the middle of the night... assuming the store even comes online during the night.
Early on in the thread someone mentioned speaking to apple sales on the phone and they said it wouldn't be on sale till 8am tomorrow morning. I didn't believe it initially as I managed to get to the accessories page but now it's starting to seem like a possibility.

I'm in it for the long haul tonight. One of the benefits of working in academia means that I have about as flexible work hours as you can get!
Arrrghhhh I could go downstairs and update my ATV2 to the new interface that everyone is saying is *****, but then the store would come online and I would miss out.

I'm not sure where you're getting that from because the money is not taken until the order ships. What does happen is that Apple will put a temporary hold initially to make sure there are enough funds in your account for them to start processing your order. That's all.

I just got a "Don't stay up too late". Guess she knows I'm a lost cause for this kind of thing. Or she knows how unbearable I will be if I don't get one release day. Most likely the latter.
Ah could be getting confused with the temp hold, although as said I really don't have the funds yet, pay day is friday!

It still puzzles me how they totally dismiss or ignore the fact that this kind of crap happens EVERY time a new major release goes up for preorders...
