Wait, am I the only person who got it to go through first time?

Thats seems crazy, especially considering the orders were around or after midnight. I can't honestly imagine the server strain being that bad at this hour.

Just ordered mine.... Just waiting for email confirmation to arrive but I'm going back to bed.. Good Night !:p

I messed up. I had £482 in the bank so I placed my order and it went through (it appeared under Your Orders) but I didn't get a confirmation email so I cancelled it and now I need to wait for a refund because my bank says my available funds are £82 now. Anyone know what to do?

Phew what a night.

I was on the store when it came up but I didn't realise I didn't have the funds available on my credit card! After much scheming and using of the UK's excellent new 'Faster Payments Service' (Death to BACS!) I managed to get my credit card funds up to £583! Just enough to bag myself a Black 32GB WiFi/3G model.

Off to the 3-store tomorrow to get a micro sim!

Oh - my current 32GB iPad 2 (WiFi) is on eBay for £300 including postage now too.

Reading through this thread..seems like a lot of fun and games been going on...:D

This will be my first iPad, but I'm going to do what someone suggested earlier and order it through John Lewis when available for the 2yr warranty:cool:

Mine went through perfectly at 0040, I may have been lucky.

Thanks. What company delivers it here in the UK?

Think it's UPS, although I may be wrong.

It's funny, all this mad clamour to get your order in (myself amongst them!), and it wouldn't surprise me if you could still get a launch day order in on Friday.

If you're willing to cut up a sim to turn it into a microsim then consider Three's "SIM Pay As You Go + 12" sim only deal. You get 12 GB for 12 months and I think it costs £51.49. It works out at £4.29 a month plus you get the benefit that your data kind of rolls over. I.e. one month you might not use it but the next month you might go away and hammer it.

You should be able to get £12.50 cash back as well if you buy through a Quidco link which means that it works out at effectively £3.25 a month.

Ooh that does sound interesting. The Three store is down at the moment but I'll check it out when it comes back up. I was looking at the iPad Micro-sims specifically and had settled on the 1GB/month for £7.50 option.

All of the 'official' 1GB/month pay-as-you-go deals are now £10 per month. You have to sign a contract (albeit 1 month rolling contract) for £7.50 a month. If you're willing to cut up a sim then the 12 month thing is a no brainer in my opinion. I did it for both mine and my fiancée's iPads and her father has done it too. If you have an existing microsim (i.e. out of an iPhone or iPad) to hand to use as a guide then it's really quite simple. Just make sure always to make it clear which corner has the slanted bit on otherwise you can mess things up and forget which way round it goes.

People with the 4G ipads, you might want to consider giffgaff. No contracts etc, and they are usually the cheapest around.

500MB = £5 (http://giffgaff.com/goodybags/500MB-mobile-broadband)
1GB = £7.50 (http://giffgaff.com/goodybags/1GB-mobile-broadband)
3GB = £12.50 (http://giffgaff.com/goodybags/3GB-mobile-broadband)

For £10 a month you can get 250 mins, unlimited texts, and truly unlimited data. Great for those looking to tether to a phone. It does say that tethering isnt permitted, but I've been doing it for over a year now no problem.

I get a pre pay micro sim for 3 from amazon and just pop it in every three months. It's £12 for 3GB of data or 3 months whichever happens first :)

I usually manage a week or so before putting a new one in so it's a tad cheaper!

The joy of this way is that there is a no cutting down required

PS Just managed to order at last! Credit card refused first (I'd tried loads of times!) - I dread to think how many I have actually ordered !!!! Time will tell!

Here's my order tracking widget, 8 days sounds so long. The post-it next to the widget is the reason I am treating myself to a new iPad.

For some reason I woke up at 2am this morning zzzz (blames the mrs for stealing all the covers!) so used the opportunity to pre-order a 16gb black 4g model with a smart cover.

Now just need to wait :)

Happy man

Woke up for work at 5:00am thinking i'll never get one...

Ordered a white 32gb wifi - 4g + blue smart cover and the camera connection (I didn't know that existed until yesterday :eek:).

Happy days... Only slight problem I have had to get it delivered to work and I haven't had much success with that in the the past....

Set the alarm for 06:50- grabbed the iPad2 and refreshed the store page. No problems with loading etc. and had my 32gb wifi white ordered in a matter of minutes!

"Delivered on the 16th" for people still to place an order.

Was wrecked last night with man-flu so I'm happy I didn't stay up! Enjoy everyone and roll on the 16th. See you in the inevitable "my delivery hasn't arrived yet" thread.

So i set my alarm for 7am - woke up on the store - ordered bam booom job done. now why dedint i go bed ealier im tired...

I have a 9-10AM lecture next Friday... Was planning on skipping it tomorrow (for Mass Effect 3, of course ;)) but now might go tomorrow and skip it next week. Decisions!

Guys I have a quick question. Is the money billed immediately from your credit card? As I need to order it but the bank has not cleared sufficient funds yet :)
