Wait, am I the only person who got it to go through first time?

Thats seems crazy, especially considering the orders were around or after midnight. I can't honestly imagine the server strain being that bad at this hour.

Nope, mine went through first time through as well. I did order mine soon after the store came back up though.

Anyone else had more than 1 payment took from bank account?

Ordered 1 Black 32GB WIFI.

2 payments of £479 have been taken from account, rang natwest and they said that one of the payments should go back in within 3-4 days.

Panic over, moan over.

iPad 64GB Wifi - Ordered! 8 days!!

(Apple still owe me £1200 though, I should start charging interest ;))

I emailed Tim Cook last night saying "I'd love to give you my money and buy my third iPad - when's the store coming back?".

This morning I got a call from Apple Executive Relations... http://macintude.net/2012/03/08/apples-customer-service-how-they-went-a-step-further/

Wow that's crazy! Happy to hear it all worked out in the end.

Couldn't decide between 3G or wifi only but went for wifi only in the end. Not sure if I'll use it out and about much. May cancel and order the 3G.

iPad users: recommend going with the 3g option?

i still cant decide between 64GB wifi or 64GB 3G...

i think the extra 100 is probably just about worth it for versatility of use... always having a connection (i.e. it serves a use that my laptop can't fulfill)... however the only thing which pisses me off is the extra money i'll have to spend /month for the 3G.

i do have an iphone too but personal hotspot doesnt seem to work for me (vodafone)

any good solutions to this? i did make a thread before but i was wondering of people's practical solutions.. e.g. how much data does an ipad use up on 3G? i'll be using itunes match + general web browsing, a bit of youtube.

No one can decide for you. Its only you who knows if its worth the extra £100 + £10 a month data plan.

Personally didnt bother, as it takes a matter of seconds to tether it to my phone anyway, which has an unlimited data plan through giffgaff.

I ordered my 32gb black wifi one this morning. It'll be my first pad, so hopefully a good experience.

I do currently have a 3G iPad1, but I don't use the 3G, I just run a hotspot app on my phone and connect the iPad to that via wifi as there's no way I want to have a second data contract. That's fine for me though, I rarely use the iPad anywhere I don't have wifi so it doesn't really eat into my data. If I'm out and about I just use the phone anyway.

The only thing I would miss with the non-3G one is the GPS. But not convinced that capability is worth £100 premium.

I agree I was torn between 64gb wifi and 3G however Wifi won for me. For the folowing reasons:-

Im hardly ever at a place where I use the iPad without wifi (work, home, mums etc)

I am looking into the tethering option which could work as an alternative

There is a slightly bigger drain on battery on the 3G as its constantly searching for a signal (this is what the apple store rep told me today on the phone)

So Wifi it was... plus £100 and a data contract over a year is another £220... its a big consideration

That is exactly why I went with the wifi only in the end. What I would miss is having access to files on the go but I suppose tethering will solve that and gps on the iPad.

There will be a drain on your phone and table if you tether.

Me! Black 32GB (same as last time). First time I've had 3G on an iPad though. My last two were WiFi only

I went for this one as well, why did you change from your previous ipad with only wifi?

Don't need a data contract, can get cheap pre-paid SIMs from eBay

right now it says after March 18th.
I ordered early this morning, my order still says Delivers on March 16, I hope they honor the delivery date for the early orders.

The UK Apple store is now showing delivery of the new iPad as 2-3 weeks!
WooHoo for all of us that have already got in.
I was on the fence about upgrading my iPad 2 straight away so held off, especially as I'll be in the market for an MBA soon, however I decided to order one at about 430pm today when we still had 16th as delivery date. Glad about that now!!

Had considered getting another white one to see if my wife would notice the upgrade without being told :D but decided to go for a black one this time round.

Glad you got in just in time dude.
I am upgrading my iMac this year and thought twice about upgrading my iPad too, but a retina display on an iPad is going to be truly amazing. I couldn't not. It will be a few more months 'til the new iMac comes out so my bank balance can have a little bit of R&R before then.
