I managed to order 64g wifi + 4g (third generation) white around 12.15 am this morning and was a bit worried I hadn't received a confirmation email.
On investigating questions and answers on the apple site, it states you will only receive a confirmation email if you used a payment method other than credit or debit card. So don't feel too bad that I haven't received anything. (I do have a screen shot tho!):)

I've always had confirmation and I ONLY pay with Credit/Debit cards...

With UK Pre-orders they always ship them all to the UK first and then ship out the orders from there. So you won't get dispatched emails until Weds or even Thurs. Its not like the US where they get shipped straight from China to the customer.

I guess you are referring to iPads (iPhones?) specifically - my MBPs shipped form China to arrive on their respective launch days.

I would have thought your order should be in processing by now, which you will get an email for no matter how you are paying. The not sending an email to you if credit/debit is only the order placed email (which when paying by other methods I believe gives you details on what you need to do).

The page you looked at (mainly for other people replying to you): http://store.apple.com/uk/help/communication

Order Placed.
Order acknowledgements: You should receive an order acknowledgement only if you have used a payment method other than credit or debit card. This email contains details about how to pay for your order.

Order Processing.
Order confirmation: Once your payment has been received and your order has been accepted by Apple, you will receive an order confirmation email with the details of your order and estimated availability and delivery dates. If you have not received this email 5 business days after making your payment or after 24 hours in case of a credit/debit card order, please contact the Apple Store Customer Service team Please note for credit/debit card orders, we may ask you to provide additional documentation before confirming your order or your order may be declined by your bank. If this is the case, we will contact you by email.

So if you haven't received a confirmation email by tomorrow morning that your order is processing they seem to want you to get in touch with them (though as long as your order is shown in the order history on the site as "processing" then I should think you're fine).

iPad on finance

Hey all

Ordered the 64GB white 4g model at about 3 in the morning but checked out with the finance option

I know I have to pay about £100 more but its for my girlfriend and its our 6 year anniversary (which in on the 16th oddly enough)and she's wanted an iPad for ages. The finance went though fine but on the order info it saying "Awaiting Payment Delivers on March 16".

Does anyone have any prior experience with this, do they hold an iPad for me for x amount of days to receive payment from barclays or do I get pushed to the back of the queue?

Hey guys I pre-ordered an iPad this morning about 6 o'clock but then I cancelled it and pre-ordered another one with the student discount about 10 o'clock.

The thing is, the money is still on hold in my bank account from the first order, so how will Apple get the money for the second order? I've got a feeling I'm gunna get an email saying insufficient funds... Oh and I haven't got a confirmation email for the second order yet either.. Any advice?

It's marked as 'Processing' on the order status page.

Sorry to hijack your question. I actually have a dock and it's the best thing I have bought for the device. Use it to dock the iPad to charge and be part of the living room on the sideboard. We often use it as a photo frame with slide shows displayed etc. Also, as it lives in the dock it is always fully charged.

Ah thanks for that :)

I'm really tempted to get one! Or I could spend an extra £75 and get an apple tv.. hmm :apple:

I order a white 64gb wifi only model :)
Can't wait till next Friday ... And I just so happen to have that weekend off work too :)

ordered this one today
iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G 32GB - White (3rd generation)
sold my iPad 2 Wi-Fi 16GB on Tuesday for £350 cash

It takes a week for the hold to drop.

It'll fail at processing potentially.

I love this bit. Checking the order status every hour to see it winging its way from wherever it's coming from - gradually getting closer and closer to my door! Or in my case, closer and closer to my employer's door. Arranged to have it delivered to work - I don't want to wait til I get home on the 16th. lol.

I have just followed in your footsteps and checked my order status and the the picture of the iPad has changed to a box, Now that is definitely getting closer :D

You expected it to have already shipped? It'll still be processing for about 5-6 days and will ship out Wed/Thurs next week.

It's a shame I'm busy next week. I always enjoy the panic on here when it gets to a few days before delivery and they aren't despatched yet.

Even pointing people to discussions from previous releases with exactly the same worries doesn't help.

And we haven't yet had someone reporting a conversation with Apple support saying that we won't get them on Friday. Those ones are always my favourites. :)

2-3 week wait now

Only after reading that some people had had emails changing their order status from processing to shipping date 14th march estimated delivery 16th. It may be in the us though rather than uk so far.

US deliveries are shipped from China straight to the customer.

UK deliveries are shipped to Cork, Ireland from China, and then individually delivered to the customer.

Your tracking info only shows up when your item is processed in Ireland.

If the earlier rumours are true, several plane loads oh iPads have already been shipped to the US so they might get local deliveries too ... initial stock only I guess.

Thanks for clarifying. That's put my mind at rest.

Okay so now a bit concerned that I have no email confirmation, but i still have a screen shot confirmation does that count?
