UK New iPad Thread.

I have checked Apple account, my order is processing (has said this from the start), I have a pending amount on my credit card and have just spoken to Credit Card company who confirm that the charge did go through. Still no order confirmation mail tho, so feel like i am on the way. 16th will hopefully be a good day, new ipad and finish work for a fortnight holiday.
for the record, my iPhone 4S came straight from China to my house, no stop off for Guinness in Cork.

Me too. I haven't got an order confirmation email but not worried in view of the Apple advice page regarding that .... and the charge is reserved on my card. I'm having mine engraved (I thought I might as well, what the hell it's free) so maybe that is why it hasn't turned into a box yet.
Hoping it happens for me as it did when the 1st iPad came out in the UK - I was one of the lucky ones who got their ipad a day early in the UK (probably because it had been out in the US beforehand though, so not quite the same situation as this time around.) I'm supposed to be at a photography workshop on the 16th and would just love to rock up there with my shots on a new ipad. <preen !> It's a little dream but probably pointless, but you never know - the workshop isn't until the afternoon in any case so it still could happen even if some of us don't get 'em a day early.
I'm in a very good mood today though because after waiting an age for my first gen ipod to be replaced I get an email last night saying it had been despatched. It's on the van for delivery today. Apple gadget lust twice in a week ! And I've got a night out with three gorgeous blokes (one of them is my fiance, lol) tomorrow night. So I'm happy like a bee in clover (this website won't let me say "happy like a pig in ****". lol.)
Dont expect it to be shipped till Wednesday at the earliest. Either way, UPS will have strict instructions to deliver on the 16th and only then. I'm sure if they broke that date then Apple would have little hesitation in terminating their contract with them.
I ordered my 32 GB Wifi Ipad yesterday evening but made the big mistake of waiting till I got home to do it. At work it was showing delivery for the 16th but when I got home it changed to 2-3 weeks!! Now by deliery status is showing 30 March 2012.
Are they just saying 30 March 2012 because its the latest they should deliver it (30 March 2012 is end of 3 weeks) and there is a chance can it ship earlier?
Apart from wanting my Ipad fast, I am actually going abroad 25 March 2012 so it would be ideal for it to be deliver in 2 weeks rather than 3. That would mean it would come on 23 March 2012 (after 2 weeks) allowing me to take it abroad with me!
So the difference between 2 and 3 weeks is a big deal for me. Anyone have any thoughts on whether the 30 March 2012 date is just an estimate for them to cover themselves and it couls perhaps come in 2 weeks instead?

From past experience I have received items earlier then stated. So there is a chance you might get it earlier. All you can do is hope it arrives before you leave. In the future if you really want it, pre-order the morning after the keynote. The evening of the Keynote the Apple store craps itself and is a waste of your time.

Apparently this was the case with the first lot, but as I said, I (and a few others here) got mine the day before. It has been known to happen on product launches too from what people have said here (though never to me.)
Don't forget Apple have the iPad launch for the second group of 25 countries a week after it launches here which will need supplying before our next shipment is sent.
Placed my order this morning. Dispatch 30th March, delivery 2nd April. Any point in cancelling and buying from an Apple store on the 16th? Saying that, I'd rather wait than have to queue.
Ordered late night launch day for a 16th March delivery, regretted adding engraving in case that delays it.
I got my iPad 1 TNT delivery a day early, the guy said he had quite a few in his truck and not many people were in.
I'm getting it delivered to my work just in case it's the same this time. But if it's late I'll be disappointed to wait until the Monday. When friends will likely stroll into a Currys and get one.

Had about 15 attempts fail when using Chrome but went through 2nd time when I used the iPhone app. Got my order confirmation at 02:10. Went for the 32GB Wifi only model and it will be my first iPad - couldn't resist the temptation any longer.
Within my order status on the Apple website it's showing 'Processing Items - Delivers on March 16'. It's still a picture of an iPad rather than a box. I've no doubt everyone who's status page says 'Delivers on March 16' will get in then regardless of picture change!

It will use 3G over here just will be capable of higher speeds if your network supports it.

Nope, the fastest available here is HSDPA. So called 3.5G, by some.
Most networks support it, but there's no 4G per se, and even when there is, the UK frequency is going to be different from the States', so the "4G" iPad won't work here, or anywhere else in Europe.
