UK New iPad Thread.

Interesting, only about 10 miles apart ( for the benefit of others reading this )
I'm going to try changing my delivery address to my work address in Stirling to see if that helps. Worth a try...
I'm having mines delivered to east kilbride, still says 16th, although ordered yesterday afternoon. I bet I get the dreaded email any second now that I have said that!
I have just received an email stating that my delivery has just been pushed back to the 20th March!!
I ordered at just after midnight on the 8th March!! Yet when i log into my apple account it still shows delivery by the 16th!!
I am in Belfast btw. Any one knows what's happening?

You won't believe my story:
I was in this thread the 8th, the whole evening waiting for the store to come back up (you can even see a post of mine at the beginning). I wasn't intending to buy an iPad, just an Apple TV. Anyhow, at 23:25 I had enough and I went to bed, posting a goodbye message in this thread. Next day checking this thread I realised that the store came back up at 23:30, just 5 minutes later.
Anyway, at around 2am, I had to go to the loo, and I quickly checked the store: it was up again, and I ordered the Apple TV. That was all. Or was it?
This morning, I showed the keynote to my wife, and she said: I want it. She says that she's going to be travelling the next few months and that she needs it.
So basically I was on launch date all night ready to pull the trigger, but I ended up ordering it this morning and getting a dispatch date of "2 to 3 weeks", AAAAARRRGHHH!!!

Those that have received the email from Apple, what does you order status say? Is it showing the new revised delivery date, or still the 16th?

I'll just add to the crys of everyone who hasn't gotten a dreaded email yet asking for order time, model, location, other items in order, and anything else that might be useful to help us hope we won't get one.

i got the email to say delayed till 21st also.

in ayrshire.
the status on the site is still showing 16th for delivery though, and i have a separate order for apple tv3 saying 16th - 19th for delivery

These delay emails are seriously worrying. I ordered mine about 1AM on the 1st day and haven't had the email yet, but I *really* need it. One of my apps is iPad specific, and is extremely sensitive to any changes in the camera, GPU or overall system performance. I have to update it because it's unlikely to work on the iPad 3, but I can't update it without a device.
Even if I had one today it'd take a week to get the update approved, so once the iPad 3 is out I'm likely to get a week of bad reviews because people upgraded and the app doesn't work properly. Bad reviews affect sales. So any delay at all is going to hurt financially too :O
It's bad enough already - I'd booked a holiday from next weds to sunday. Luckily it's in the UK, but it means I can't go now until the iPad is delivered, and I'll spend the remaining half of the "holiday" coding. Wonderful eh? I just hope it's delivered first thing, at least my wife will get an extra day.

Unless I'm missing something, it seems to be affecting just Scotland and Cornwall so far.
I suppose that it is possible that couriers have stated that they can't get them into these areas in time, but surely that would just result in a one day delay.
More likely, the emails are going out in batches of geographical areas, in which case we will soon start getting reports of people in another area getting them.
I would just point out that, on just about every release, at some point Apple tell people that they won't get them until a few days after release date. Usually it is support staff, but there is still a chance that this is a similar error.

double checked mine and it still says delivery on the 16th march and for reference mine is a 16gb black 4g model.
Even the people who have had the 'delay' emails say 16th for delivery on the status screen so I dont think it means anything.. I'm in the same boat.
Even after receiving my delay email, my order page still says delivery on 16th March so I wouldn't read too much into that.

I ordered the white/16gb/wifi @ around 0130 once the store was back up, delivery to Manchester.
Hope it doesn't get delayed... my wife is already having withdrawal symptoms after I convinced her to sell our iPad 2 a few weeks ago.

Sorry guys should of stated I have not got any further emails from apple about any delays so fingers crossed mine will ship on time.

I ordered a 64GB Black 4G model at 11:50pm on the 7th. No 'delay' email from Apple (yet - it might just be they are working through the wi-fi only orders first...)

Now I'm worried after seeing all these comments about delay emails.
I ordered it the second the store came online, literally about 10 clicks in a 30 second timeframe. So if I get an email through, that will mean everyone has had their orders delayed pretty much.
My only assumption would be that they may have had trouble with acquiring the stock or shipping delays.

Belfast as well- got the email saying 20th March. Ordered at 7am on Thurs morning as too wrecked to stay up for the store to re-open.
Gutted- will probably queue up next Fri afternoon at the Apple Store
