I also got an email to say mine has shipped by UPS for delivery on the 16th. The tracking number doesn't work yet though.
I had my mobile number on my order, assume its that way
Ironically I've got a 64GB iPad 2 WiFi (refurb) due on the 12/13th thats not even shipped yet

I've got it as well. Simply typed my phone no. through ordering process.
Got an email this morning to say mine has been shipped by TNT, which means our UPS man will be delivering it!

I'm in North London (Hertfordshire area). Ordered via phone at about 8:50pm after being on hold for over 30 mins!
Where abouts in Herts? I live in Cheshunt and mine's being delivered by Syncreon..
Did you order any accessories with it? Usually in my experience, Syncreon's warehouse is where any accessories are merged with the main package before being onward delivered by the courier (TNT or UPS). Syncreon will not be the courier ultimately delivering it on to you. In a few days (maybe even Thursday), your tracking number should change and you will get a new tracking number from TNT or UPS who will be delivering your iPad to you.
Great stuff, I ordered a Smart Cover with mine, so that must be it.
I thought Syncreon were a logistics company that made sure the packages were held until they were supposed to be delivered. They seem quite 'advanced' than other couriers.
Well I'll wait for the new updates soon then!
Mines shipped, Im in Suffolk. Mine is also supposedly coming via Syncreon. Anyone had any experience with them before? I also ordered a Smart Cover so I guess thats why its with them for now.

My iPhone 4S shipped with Syncreon, I was a little worried it wouldn't make it at first with not hearing of them before. However, they actually delivered it at 8AM, so I probably had it before anyone in stores had managed to purchase theirs. I'm please my iPad is coming with them, other couriers don't turn up until late afternoon at my house.
I just got a tracking number, it's being shipped by TNT (I'm in London btw). It doesn't work yet but as soon as it does, I'm sure I'll be checking it every few hours... maybe I should ration myself!
o2 are offering £303 for iPad 2 64gb 3g. Unreal!!!

Notably, my iPad seems to be currently in Hinckley, confirming Jarson's suspicions?

Ah, I usually put my home phone number on my order. I'll be sure to use my iPhone's in the future.
Am I therefore correct in thinking that Apple basically contracts out Syncreon to handle delivery? So they'll hand over a batch of iPads to Syncreon and then they'll package your order up and pass them onto the end carrier?

From what I can see, and reading Syncreon's website, I think so.
Most of us currently tracked at Syncreon seem to have other items in our orders, rather than just the iPad, so they might be being put together before she find out which carrier will get the package.
Those who have been shipped with UPS/TNT seem to not be able to get much info on where their package is on the carrier's website, so I suspect they are also still in the warehouse, but with the appropriate label on the box ready for whenever they are picked up.
