I don't know if this has been posted already - apologies if so, but I think it's useful for those of us having our iPads delivered by Syncreon.

When you click on 'Track my Order' on the Apple Store, you're taken to Apple's Shipment Status page, which doesn't actually show the tracking info.

If you want real-time tracking information, use Syncreon's Synview 360 Tracker Enter your 'Tracking Number' into the 'Order No/Delivery No' box and your 'Additional Order Number' into the 'Sales Order No' box.

There's no information on mine at the moment, but I expect to see proper tracking information once the shipment starts moving!

mines says its in HINCKLEY GB which is around 49mins away from me.... They're going to make me wait till friday to get it?!?!?! REALLY. the wait is killing me.

Hinckley appears to be where Syncreon's main depot is. From what I've read, Apple gave Syncreon a batch of iPads in advance - ready to go out when ordered. I've also read that Syncreon will pass them to 'conventional' couriers somewhere down the line.

oh i see! Makes sense. Theres me getting ahead of myself.

I've preordered a white 16gb Wi-Fi one, and have had the confirmation for the 16th! I'm in the Midlands. Fingers crossed! :)

Mines coming with TNT. There's a depot only 2 miles from where I live! I got my iPad 1 a day early but that was with a different delivery company (ups I think). Have ordered a Belkin sleeve that should arrive Wednesday. It has been a long wait for a worthy upgrade!

As someone stated on here earlier, its EU law for it to come with a 2 year warranty as standard.

Then why do Apple and a myriad of other companies only sell products advertised with a 1 year guarantee? Plus JL have a great return policy and customer service in general.

The same reason companies say they only offer 1 year warranty with games consoles. The distance selling regulations state that the consoles should be good for up to 3 years (i think, maybe 2).

A simple reminder of the regulations and showing them that they have no leg to stand on and they will back down, should they make a fuss over it anyway.

Should they still not budge, a nice letter to trading standards will ensure your faulty iPad is replaced.

I've also heard Apple are being sued in Italy for not wanting to offer the 2 year warranty.

2 year guarantee for the same price, shall be buying here.

Good luck with getting one on launch day. That said I typically upgrade every time a new model comes out so a two year warranty isn't really neccessary for me.

As for service Apple is very good too and when it comes to their products I rather deal with them directly. Granted their return policy is stricter but I've never had a problem as I've never had to return an Apple product for a refund. Regards faults under warranty they just swap iOS products on the spot.

Because it is the basic requirement of the UK... but European Union law supersedes UK requirements.

Really? Better than Apple themselves? I'd never buy an Apple product anywhere but an Apple store, unless I was getting a massive discount.

I finally got a shipped email and sms..
all done via UPS..

tracking numbers don't work on UPS site yet.. so obviously Apple are holding onto them ... probably until Tuesday night/Wednesday I reckon before anything tracks on UPS is my guess.

Oddly, I have 2 tracking numbers - 1 for iPad and 1 for smart cover - even thought they are part of the same order. I assume they will be delivered together anyway.

4 days and counting :apple:

Getting very worried here....

Orderd just before midnight UK time on announcement day and got order confirmation, etc. Still no shipped email though even though one of my colleagues who ordered the next morning already got his shipped email!!

Should I be concerned?

What state is it in on the website. Still processing, or preparing to ship? Something else?

Im in the same boat with the two tracking numbers. Slightly confusing.

Processing :(

While there is probably no reason to worry (assuming it ships in the next couple of days), if I was you I'd give Apple a call just to check that nothing is wrong with your payment or similar. Just incase. Its overly cautious, but it'll save you from worrying. :)
