That's ok. That just means it's at the depot ready and waiting for the van to come and pick it up.

Then it will get scanned and tracking will start.

Even if it has to leave where it's currently at, hit another depot then leave for you, this can all be done in the wee early hours of Friday morning! :D

Just talked to TNT, they said it's most likely that it hasn't been scanned in yet, and should be there this evening if they are quoting a 16th delivery date. Been advised to call back tomorrow morning to confirm, and they'll have a better estimate of the delivery date. NOTE: the shipment is not in TNT's possession at this current time, shipments are scanned in as they enter the truck.

Nice work :) I'll try mine again later this evening!

Nice!

I'm hoping for it to slip through the cracks too... I very much doubt it will mind.

If its any help when the iPad 1 came out, it was delivered a day early to me. From what I remember most people in the UK got it a day early. That was with UPS however.

Just called Apple, before I even told him what I ordered and what courier I had he told me that the TNT tracking numbers are correct, but won't work until the 16th (!). Seems a bit stupid but oh well...

Would've thought it would be the 15th. Like if Apple have got all the iPads sitting on a truck. They wanting the couriers to open the trucks on the Friday and sort them to the correct depot and whatnot on the day :S? God knows..

Either way.. I'm sure they won't screw it up.

Maybe thats why TNT have all these UK orders this time!! :(

I hope they don't! It's annoying because literally about 100 metres down the road from my house is a UPS depot. Typical!

I found this image on Google, which shows Syncreon's tracking of what I believe is an iPhone 4S.

It shows that the package was actually shipped to Syncreon on October 12th, but they didn't class it as "shipment pickup" until October 13th.

What I think is happening is that Apple has the iPads with Syncreon as a contractor, but the "shipment pickup" is when it actually leaves Apple-contracted Syncreon to be with a carrier. And that won't likely be until Thursday.

On another note, has anyone who's shipping with Syncreon got any numbers to work with any of the various couriers? I doubt it, but I thought i'd ask.

Anyone have ideas what Apple will do for retail launchs?

I've heard that they might not start selling until 5pm, as was the case with the iPad 2. I hope this isn't the case and they start selling in the AM.

The consensus seems to be firming around it being an AM launch, although most discussion is regarding the US.

I don't really understand where mine is. According to the shipment details it was delivered via UPS to my town on March 10th, and that's where it is now. I can only assume my local post office depot has it? I wouldn't expect them to have any special instructions to not give it to me until the 16th. And there's no UPS depot near here either.

It's probably nowhere near you just yet as UPS haven't picked it up from the distribution centre.

Read some of the posts further up this thread will probably help.

Not knowing exactly what it says I can't be sure, but IIRC others with UPS have the destination town/city listed somewhere when they track it, but have determined that it doesn't mean it is actually there. It is just a listing of where it will need to be.

Well you're still getting warranty for faulty products etc. However, we've all heard (and some people I know have experience) the odd free iPhone model/upgrade etc. when the user smashes their phone etc. They're not obliged to do that.

Apple cover Apple products regardless of where they are purchased so long as the Apple care is valid, period.

I ordered mine on 8th evening and it said there dispatched by 19th March.

It still says the same on my order status. Should I believe it will be shipped by 19th or it's more likely I will wait these '2-3 weeks'?

regards!
