Wow I ordered a ColcaSac sleeve from Gearzap yesterday at like 16:49 and it just turned up about 20 mins ago in the post, that's the quickest delivery I've ever seen from any company, ever!

Good timing to protect my lovely Mac ;)

Mine's here.
Central London, delivered about an hour ago.

I don't have my £70 EDU card though....anyone received theirs and where was it?...separate package?

The machine itself is impeccable - there was a worrying dark spot on the unibody, just under the trackpad, but I've managed to rub that off.

Screen, of course, is incredible. No dead pixels.

Best of luck all...

Mine came with the same delivery and as a separate package.

I got an el-cheapo padded sleeve from debenhams down from £25 to £6 bargain!

UPS just called.
He is heading back with the second package....

Glad he got it this way around, I have the mac rather than the gift card...!

That would not be good if it was the other way around glad you're getting the voucher today as well and enjoy :)

40 mins to do a migration of my users folder to my new mac, not bad over usb 2.0 and a 100gb of data.

OMG its so awesome even the sound is incredible and the screen out of this world. Now to try out windows :) and wait for ML

Just arrived, woohoo! Currently typing from my old laptop as I set the new one up; difference in screen quality already night and day, haha.

My order has been shipped on the 23th, but still no UPS number .. Any ideas ??? It is supposed to be delivered by Tuesday ( 31st ) ..

Just called apple and they are going to send out a replacement asap (latest by the 10th as it's a custom order) however I can keep the existing laptop up until that date so at least I am not without a laptop for work, studying etc.

Hopefully the second one will be perfect.

Spotted a couple more which are also dead (black) and told them as I run safari etc full screen you can see them a mile off on the white bars so they where happy to order a replacement for me.

After the long wait sucks to have that happen. Now I'm critically searching for dead pixels on mine.

Very frustrating, it seems to be so common. Despite my anticipation I'm concerned this will be the case for a lot of us.

I hope you don't find any and once you see it thats it you focus on it!

It looks to be a bit too common for my liking and there is always a risk the next one will be worse but I will endeavour and get a flawless display.

Basically this, haha. I'm trying not to stare too closely to my screen because I don't want to spot any dead pixels, but obviously at the same time better to get a replacement now than when I'll actually need my machine all the time.

New Mac

Haven't got a clue which MBP to get! Been working all summer to get some funds together. Got about £1750 to play with but can stretch if necessary. I do a lot of photo editing and video editing on FCP also play a few games and just wondering which MBP is best suited to me. Done some research and at the moment i've got my eyes on the non retina 15" top end at £1799 and just wondering if I should configure it in any way or if anyone thinks that it's worth pushing toward the retina..?
