UK New MacBook Pro Thread.

Bobryck accepted at 1400 ish this afternoon but nothing on either UPS or Apple about it being picked up after merge. Had hoped to get tomorrow for the w/e but looks like it will be the final day of the delivery window after all.

Or am I missing a step?

My new 13"mbp is out for delivery today! :D

Can anyone tell me if it can recognise 16GB memory? Im not sure if i should buy one 8GB 1600 stick and buy another later, or buy two 4GB 1600 sticks if it only runs 8GB max.

Also where can i find the best uk memory deal atm? Quidco/Crucial?

Do you not have to have both slots filled for it to work? If it's true, plan A won't work.

I'd have a read up... I'm just guessing based on a hazy memory!

IIRC, you can run it with only one DIMM, but it then won't run in dual-channel mode, so a matching pair is best.

Yeah it will, it's just it wont be picked up the deliverer to Apple to merge the order untill later, when the barcode will be scanned and the shipping status updated.


Mine is scheduled delivery for Tuesday how about yours ?
 
ML free upgrade

I highly recommend that one of the first things you do is go online, using your serial number of your machine and put your request in for the free ML upgrade. The whole process is taking about 72hours as you may be aware, and the sooner you get in there the better.
 
I don't know how I managed to get mine through in 5 minutes (and the code worked) ... everyone else seems to have to wait aaaages!

Plus apple sent me through a second code this morning. They're both different...

Pretty weird.

That's requested delivery date to Apple's distribution center.


Check your estimated delivery date on Apple's website log in to your account and press track shipment.

Email from apple says: We expect your order to be delivered to your shipping address on or before 31/07/2012.

Online apple page says: Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) Aug 01, 2012

Many many thanks. It is downloading. My rMBP turned up the day before ML was released. I have spent nearly all my time since installing apps, bootcamp etc. ML is the last piece. It will be good to start just getting on with things, till I have to upgrade W8 RP to the real thing. Thanks again.

How far are you from London ?


Mines estimated 31st, and I'm Leeds.
