what delivery time have you been given?

On a slightly different thread..... The TB > ethernet adapters.... £25 on the uk site...

Does anyone know the pros/cons hard wiring this way?

So, I ordered a base model 13" MBP last week and not really knowing about the release of the newer one and am all set for a return via ups. and they were saying on the phone orders online they are saying 2 to 3 weeks but it may be alot sooner then that! so just have to wait and see am going for a new base model of a 13" :)

Just called the Buchanan Street, Glasgow branch and they said they don't have the RMPBs in yet but they expect them in tomorrow. She also said to call later on today to see if there's a change in the situation. I'll call the Braehead store when it opens at 10am.

I never know whether the believe the staff in the Apple Store when they give time estimates - they're only trying to help but I always get the feeling they only know as much as we do. I have a friend who works in the Braehead store though so I'll ask him and hopefully get an honest answer.

If anyone else wants to call their local store you can get their numbers here http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/ - might be worth building up a list of when each store might be getting them in stock?

EDIT: The Union Square, Aberdeen branch is also saying they should have the new Retina MacBook Pros in stock tomorrow.

Being a business customer I wonder if i'd get more idea of availability at the Liverpool store( which is my preferred choice even though i don't live anywhere near?? :) ).... Will keep you posted....... :D

I really need a new Macbook Pro and maxed out the options to order the model in my sig.

Came to over £3,000 and delivery time is 3-4 weeks.

2-3 weeks delivery time! Nooooo!

Apple store don't know when they'll have them in stock!

Noooooo!

Looks like if you're wanting an RMBP.... try towards the end of the week or next week.... Looks like the 5-7 day wait time online is about right if you're looking to buy the standard models.. anything else.. weeks

Just called Covent Garden and was told
They will be in stock tomorrow. Then asked whether the 16GB configs shall be in stock tomorrow and the lady said "sure no problem, we shall fit it in for you!". Hope at least the date is right...

Well it's London.... nowhere else in the UK seems to exist :p

London stores have told me they don't know if they will have it and they don't know the numbers if they get it. Im not going all the way in to experiment and end up on the news as Apple Lab rat.

Well looking at the specs, im going to stick with the 13 inch id originally planned on, with 8gb of ram as an upgrade.

I only really want it for dj'ing on a bit, and just other bits an bobs, aperture when im away on holiday etc......

At a festival this weekend, so im gonna apply for a credit card tomorrow, and hopefully it should have arrived when i get back so i can go an purchase.

Usb 3.0 ports will support usb 1 devices still wont they? I hope my dj controller will still work.

Apple Store Regent Street had SEVEN RMBP's and obviously sold out instantly. Apparently are getting "more tomorrow".

This is RIDICULOUS. It's a ploy by marketing to raise some hype. Seriously Apple get a grip! Stop being losers and supply us properly.

Woah, you made it sound like you just pulled £3,000 out of your back pocket. :D

Wish I had money like that to spend. What do you do for a living? :)

Anyone have news of the Apple store in Stratford (Westfield), London?

Same goes. They say they don't know if they are getting any or how many they will get. I bet if you go there you will just waste your time.

Wankers. Ships today, my arse.

Before seeing the blogs I was desperate for the 17" new macbook pro as I plan to use mainly for photography and have limited need for it to be that portable. This would have been my first ever mac having caught the bug from iphone and ipad. Was going to get a windows laptop if 17" was discontinued.

In the end was convinced by the higher spec new 15" retina model and bumped the ram up to 16GB. Very Tempted to upgrade the SDD as well but couldnt justify it as I will probably have to use USB external storage for photos anyway. They got rid of the features I did not need to save space and kept what I needed and having a BTO 756 SDD increased delivery time by 3 weeks as well. I would still have got a 17" if that had been availible though.

I got a discount through a work link equivilent to the education discount.

Feeling pretty chuffed at the moment and my only concern is how it will handle non retina programs like lightroom and Photoshop though they should upgrade in the near future.

Delievery time for me is showing 22-26th June but hoping it will come sooner.

Ordered 2.6 RMBP 16gb ram with couple of adapters and case etc... About 2700 says dispatch under 1 week delivery 25th-27th :)
Can't wait

Hey. How did you get 1 week dispatch? Website says 3 weeks? I really need one asap for a big job next week!

was there an option for quicker shipping on the UK store? couldn't see one but the option was available for the us store

2199USD = 1417GB. add 20% VAT = £1702. Not too far off our price.
Remember US prices do not include tax in the up-front price.

So You are telling me that in that 2199$ is no tax included ? Don't think so !
Why do we have to pay both US and UK tax ? pure theft that is !

$2199 is without tax. Prices in the US are usually quoted without tax because a number of states don't charge any kind of sales tax. In those states the tax is usually added on at the till.

Just off the phone with the Braehead Apple Store, no RMBPs in today. He said they are "hoping" to have them in tomorrow but he wasn't sure.
