if i called up apple and told them they could send me stuff when ever its ready, would they do that and would it speed things up ? i want my hands on my new laptop.

I had a dream this morning where apple told me they had cancelled my order for some random reason, woke up sweating

I'm going to stop reading this thread as my 18th June order still isn't even prepared for shipping.

It's still on processing and I'm getting really pissed off now.

I'm an 18th Order too - base model. Stuck on 'Processing'. What confuses me is that Apple are sending the base models out to stores rather than the existing orders. Yes, okay, the delivery estimate is 16th-20th and Apple are likely going by that, as many others have said, but if that's the case then why are later orders getting their laptops sooner? And why are orders placed right when the store opened on 11th, or shortly after, still stuck on 'Processing'.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not bitching here. Anybody who has their laptop well before the estimate, I'm happy for you. Really, I am. Apple simply seem to have no system here. But judging by the fact that it seems to take between 5-7 days to ship, and most 'Preparing to Ship' statuses take 24 hours to change to 'Shipping', our laptops have to be finished today or tomorrow in order to fit within the 16-20th estimate.

If I'm still stuck on 'Processing' come 21st July, I'll be calling Apple.

They are sending the base models to stores as a priority simply to get more money. From a business sense, they already have out money, so why not get even more by getting extra sales from stores while the rMBP is currently a very 'hot' product.

Yeah, I called into my local (Belfast) store just to see if they had any in stock. The guy said they'd been getting maybe 2 in a delivery (but sporadic), and they would sell almost immediately.

My Base model, ordered 14th June, has just switched to "Preparing for Shipment".

Congratulations! Out of curiosity, what was your original delivery estimate?

I got mine yesterday and oh boy it's just stunning. I don't know what people are on about the lag as I don't recognise it at all.

The only two problems I had was that the aluminium had some imperfections in form of small minute dots. So I will get mine replaced.

The other is that the rMBP doesnt seem to recognise my My Passport USB 3 drive. This seems to be a common issue and there is a simple workaround by using a USB 2 hub, till Apple fixes the behaviour.

Other than that I'm a really proud owner of the most beautiful machine that my money can buy!

My RMBP is out for delivery (back to Apple, sent it back yesterday) so Apple should receive it soon... My replacement is supposed to be sent out within 3 to 5 days so I will hopefully get it by the end of next week!

Haha... Only had the laptop for 3 days and I'm kinda missing it already! :(

There is? Could anybody send me a link to RMBP in stock online?

Edit: Just ordered one from Debenhams Plus for £1672!! Next day delivery.

That is pretty darned incredible! I wonder how they're able to sell the stock version at such a good price. You'll have to keep us updated on the delivery schedule. Makes you wonder if it delivers 'next day' only AFTER Debenhams receives it. Hopefully for your sake, they're being straightforward! Nice find. =)

I know the small dots that you mean - they're very tiny, but noticeable with close inspection. If there was only one somewhere on the exterior, you can kind of put up with it. I had the same issue with a 13" once. However, if there are more than that, it can be quite a pain. Still better than dead pixels, though!

Lol f that.. if i have any weird pinholes in my 1700£ laptop you can bet that shizzle is going straight back to apple!

Ha. Ya, fair enough. In truth, the only reason I put up with a single one was because it was the THIRD 13" MBP I had received due to faulty screens. You just give up at some point... But having spent £1664 for the rMBP, if it has so much as a speck of dust coming out of that box, I'm going to be frosty. I'm just praying to the tech god that my rMBP will be free of dead pixels - don't want to be in TaylorClark's position!! (Though it seems your new one is coming soon...congrats).

Woo, congratulations. Hopefully that means mine will change tomorrow (and the other guy on this thread who ordered even earlier). As someone mentioned before, ours have got to change this week to stand a chance of delivery date fulfilment.

I don't either, but I believe it only happens if you change resolution to 1680x1050 or 1920x1200

Have you installed the 1.4GB update? USB3 issues are one of the things it addresses

Just got an email confirming that it has been dispatched! So fingers crossed it will be here tomorrow.

Originally they had it price at around £1590 but they got in trouble with Apple apparently

i'm going to kill apple, personally. STILL PROCESSING. STILL.

Hi Guys,

I have ordered my rmbp from Western Computers, back on the 15th June. I was told today that they have tracked it and it was last updated on the 7th in Ireland?

Surely it would of go be here by now, am I being strung along?

Yay!!! My replacement RMBP just got shipped today - estimated to be delivered on Monday! :D Too bad that it's a local holiday where I live... Does anybody know if I can get UPS to deliver to a different address? Thanks!

Haha... I think it's quite funny because my original delivery date was the 12th - 18th - so I should get my replacement in the original timeframe!

Looks like my replacement will get here within
the original estimate as well.

Got to love their customer service!

That's exactly how I felt! On the MacBook air it might be ok but not the top of the line rMBP that cost as much as a second hand car!
