Yeah! - wouldn't mind a free SuperDrive though!!
What was wrong with yours?

I had some tiny black dots on the palm rest and another imperfection in the aluminium. They are going to give me some cash to compensate me for the wait.

I don't either, but I believe it only happens if you change resolution to 1680x1050 or 1920x1200

Have you installed the 1.4GB update? USB3 issues are one of the things it addresses

I use mine on 1920x1200 an there is no lag that I would notice. Maybe some are hyper sensitive to this kind of thing, but it doesn't bother me.

I tried the update, still it doesn't recognise the external HDD. I will have to suffice with USB 2 I guess.

They had base model rMBP's in stock at the Trafford Centre Apple Store today, slightly tempted but the 3 year warranty with HE EDU online purchase stopped me and decided to just wait for my online order. Never seen one in person till today, beautiful machines.

I never thought this day would come but finally it says preparing for shipment.

Ordered 18th June and it's a 2.6/16/512. It will be interesting to see how quickly that turns to shipped. And if it's a fast shipment or slow. I hope I don't spend the next week stuck on preparing!

i'm actually getting to the point where i may cancel my bloody order, i ordered on 12th june!

has anyone else had a problem with waiting this long?? at this rate i won't even reach the delivery estimate

Have people who purchased through higher education been charged £70 for the free gift card?

I ordered last week and I've been charged £70 extra on my order total.

??

I was charged it but then a discount of £70 has been applied to my order (it shows a lower value then the VAT is added)

My order could be on preparing for shipment for the next week so it's not on its way yet.

I spoke to apple as well and they told me that only if it gets to look like it will miss the delivery estimate that they can do anything.

I would suggest calling if that is the case because you have nothing to lose.

A similar thing happened to a friend of mine while he was placing the order. We actually deleted the item from the basket, closed the browser out completely and went back in. Only after that was the issue corrected. It's a weird glitch with the store, from what I can tell, but it's pretty easy to avoid! Just don't go clicking that order button just yet (if it's too late, you might need to phone Apple).

I ordered last Thursday. My card was debited yesterday for rMBP total and £70 extra.

No discount was shown on the order total. I will contact Apple once I receive my goods next month- and try to get some extra off for the hassle...

I would definitely be ordering it through this if I wasn't getting EDU discount.

Damn. So tempting! :p

It's here! Arrived at 10AM. Its absolutely beautiful as you all already know.

And for anyone still wanting to order I got mine from Debenhams Plus for £1677 and came the next morning! Superb!

I'll never trust BT, not even with their 'Infinity'. Have you considered O2, BE or Sky? I have BE and aside from one brief period, I've never had any problems. Consistent download speeds of 1MB/s. You want to make sure your company has its own box at the exchange (samknows.com).

Congrats on the change in order status! You're giving me hope for tomorrow (I ordered on the 21st)!

I have BT infinity. I originally has BT back when broadband started then moved to UK Online (who were bought by Sky) and then moved to BE. Whilst I recommend BE greatly I get between 7-9MB/sec (70Mbits) on infinity for £20 a month. It's amazingly fast.

I can literally sit down with dinner for example and download a whole film by the time I have had one spoonful of food. It's great.

Got my Shipment notification at 11am today, checked expeditors and no movement yet but it states it is 'booked' with Shanghai - London underneath. Hopefully that means I've managed to get myself on a direct plane, not the whole truck method some people have reported.

Logistics by Syncreon, I thought Apple were using Goldstar?

That sounds pretty incredible. Perhaps I need to eat my words a bit! Bad experiences leave a sour taste, I suppose. =)

I was a BE customer for years and years, across house moves and everything...but their lack of fibre was disappointing. So I moved to Infinity 2 last month, and I've been terribly impressed. Quoted 66.6/16 speed, getting 78/16 instead, and it delivers the full speed.

ADSL2+ is just poor in comparison, FTTC is where it's at :)

Just picked up the base model at the Trafford Centre. Unfortunately I have a day's shopping before I can have a play!

If i couldnt get fibre then i would definitely get BE. had them before. brilliant service and no download caps and constant high speeds. Am currently on virgin and sometimes it can just be sooo sloooooowwww. its a 10meg line but in the evening can be ridiculous. wont even allow us to stream a film off netflix. we have the lovely upgrade coming to us for free to 20mb, looked it up online. not until feb 2013 :O

on a side note i would always avoid sky, caps and have heard very bad things.

Virgin throttle you speed if you have downloaded a certain amount at different times.

I only found this out once I signed up :( Doesnt really bother me though I pay for 30Mb and get around 3-4mb/s download speeds, and it gets throttled 75% if I download too much. Only time I do it is when I download steam games.

Im getting doubled to 60 soon and the usage is changing again. I can see why its happening to you easily though, if your on M in the evenings the limit is 750mb

Theres a copy of the new one but I dont know how it works if the internet has not been upgraded yet.
