How easy is it for you guys to have stuff sent to your place of work??

No problem at all. Apple actually suggest you do this on the online order form, anyone can sign for it (despite what someone said earlier) and the lady from goods-in even brought it to my desk :)

Some places (usually the bigger companies) get a bit snotty about it because even if it's just a minute, it's still using work time and personnel for non-work-related activity. Others are more understanding, knowing that you'd have to take a day off so it's for mutual benefit, and also that happy staff are productive staff.

This place is fairly easy-going, although I think if one of the directors heard that you were getting things delivered on a regular basis they'd get a bit funny about it (and probably dust off some old policy about not doing so and put it as a "reminder" on the noticeboard) but for an occasional one-off they don't care.

I've just been successful in purchasing a 16Gb unit from the Meadowhall Apple store. The guy said that based on the current stock they have they would be out of stock by Saturday morning.

They just don't know what units are going to come in each morning, if any are coming in.

So - you want one - they've probably got some left at Meadowhall at the moment.

Just bought one at an Apple reseller in Manchester. Got the 16GB. Its amaaaaaazing.

This seems to vary between delivery companies/drivers. I have had orders from Apple delivered by TNT and have had problems getting my partner to sign for it at our own front door. In other cases, TNT have delivered things from Apple with neighbours or friends signatures being perfectly satisfactory.

UPS have been the same. Sometimes they are ok with, other times they are not.

Yeah... it probably depends on a couple of things: whether it's a "discretionary/occasional" rule set down by Apple to the courier, i.e. "we'd prefer signatures from the actual person but if you feel it's really necessary let someone else sign" and/or how much of a Jobsworth the driver is :)

So all the people who ordered from apple have received theirs?
play, argos and amazon still waiting?

I ordered mine on the 10th September, I have been estimated delivery on 12th October!!

I don't want to wait - it's at Suzhou at the moment!

it was stuck in china for quite a few days though.

Well mine did indeed get delivered yesterday after lots of stupid TNT delays. Alas, despite being a week 38, it seems to have the negative black problems. Heading to Glasgow next weekend, so I'll head to the Apple Store and see if I can get it replaced (stock willing).

imac and touch

Purchased imac and touch mid september (15th) and the touch was ready a few days ago but is merging in transport when my imac gets to the uk, which is today according to the apple rep. Only problem seems to be my carrier is called Kuehne & Nagel and i cant seem to get any tracking info out of them at all!

Any body else had this company and got it to work?

xxRob

Ok, well I've just got off the phone to Argos (UK), and after them confirming delivery of my Touch a few days ago as the 2nd Oct (a woman actually said "yes, that will be delivered on the 2nd") The customer service woman told me today that they are on preorder as they are 'not released yet' and will be delivered in the next 10 days. I for one didn't see the word Preorder anywhere, and I have a confirmation email, confirming the delivery date as the 2nd. I'll definitely be cancelling my order, and kicking up a fuss.

Ed

Thats exactly wot happened to me and its ridiculus. It was meant for delivery on the 2nd (tuesday) and nope it didn't turn up so i phoned them and a girl said sorry we didn't get your order because the system was down (whatever) and she said it would defo be delivered for thursday the 4th but on wednesday i recived a letter telling me it was a pre-order and like you said i don't remember seeing pre-order wen i ordered it. So now it says it won't be delivered anytime upto next friday  I don't trust them at all anymore so i will be cancelling my order.

my Touch is on its way to me! It was also supposed to come on the 11th of October but now its only an hour or so away from me! :))

Here is the info from TNT:

Try www.apecode.com/appletrack

I found them good for Keuhne & Nagel in the past. Sometimes it can take a day or so after your item has been shipped for it to recognise your tracking details though.
