Yeah I think you're right. Just curious why I have the "shipped on May 22nd" status but no record of it leaving the source address. If it is already in the UK I wouldn't expect to see the "shipped" status until it's out for delivery to my delivery address?

I think its just part of starting the ball rolling. It may mean it's in the hands of TNT and thats when they got it.

I'd hate to get anyone unduly excited but I just spoke to my local UPS delivery man about the ipads...

'had a meeting this morning - a lot of high value items being delivered on Thursday'

Mine is coming via TNT - but OMFG!

I hate to bring the money issue up again as i know it has been done to death but i have just called my bank who still have had no request for payment from apple and mine is on a flight from Hong Kong has anyone been charged who used a visa debit?

My ' track your shipment' button has also gone off the Apple site as has the estimated delivery date. It was 28/05 before it disappeared. The two tracking numbers have turned up but neither work on the UPS site. Very frustrating.

Nope. Exactly the same. The bank was actually quite puzzled when i explained how Apple does it.

Apple have done their version of a credit check on you, i.e. they've already taken and returned the money to make sure you're good for it. Expect it to vanish over the next couple of days. :)

Nope nothing taken here yet. Might get deducted from my bank while the delivery man is walking down my path.

The reference number (I'm assuming consignment no) when entered on the UK TNT website (Track - International) results in the status: Delivered to someone in Athens, Greece on Feb 11 2010
For TNT International orders at least, the "Document reference number" in the email Apple sends out is a "reference number" in TNT-speak, not a "consignment number". The consignment number is what shows for me on the Apple Store website order status page under "Estimated Delivery". Entering either (with the appropriate radio button selected) on the TNT international tracking page brings up the details for mine just fine.

UPS hasn't picked it up yet... tracking is still on billing info. Hope we manage to get it tomorrow somehow, that would be 'magical' :p

haha

I recall a while back when I bought either my imac or the airport extreme base station from Apple (can't recall which it was) - I had the thing in my hands, all set up and the money still hadn't gone off my debit card. I wondered if I was going to get a freebie
The cash disappeared a few days later. So - you never know.

It certainly would be "magical" - hope UPS update their details for my delivery before close of business today so that I can get permission to "work from home" tomorrow if that's when it'll be delivered... :D

Can no longer track my order through the Apple website and the estimated delivery date has vanished. Damn.

Anybody else getting this?

Yes, quite a few of us are on the same boat as you. Some say the iPads may already be in the UK, others say they are yet to be scanned from China.

Hope we'll find out what's really going on in the next couple of hours!

Booo.....

The status of my 32GB WiFi iPad changed to shipped on 21st May. I still haven't received an email confirmation and the estimated shipping date is blank. There are no tracking details at all.

Anybody else in the same situation?

Edit: unlike a lot of posts, I don't have disappearing tracking details, they've never been there to begin with. Should I have received and email confirmation by now?

Call UPS on 0115 971 6100 and find out if its going to be picked up today for delivery tomorrow. They've told me that my package will be delivered tomorrow, a second confirmation would help :)

I called UPS deliveries as none of the four tracking numbers I have been given work on the UPS website. The chap at UPS simply said I had that Apple had given me the wrong trackers. He didn't know how they would go about rectifying this. He (seemingly genuinely) didn't know anything about the iPad deliveries when I quizzed him.

FWIW, my money is on Thursday or Friday.

Well both myself (32GB Wifi) and the thread starter had ipads start their journey on the 21st, and we got no email, but if you login to the US Apple store you should have a tracking number. This number works on the TNT international site and shows that our ipads have made it to Hongkong and soon beyond. I am guessing that you might be in the same situation?

Is anyone who has ordered from UPS before aware of their policy with regards to missed deliveries?

I'm working every day this week apart from Friday. I'd certainly hope that if the iPad did arrive on Thursday while I was out, that I'd be given an opportunity re-arrange delivery for the Friday when I'd be in. Does anyone know if that would be possible?
