UK order updated today 21st to SHIPPED!!

I received the invoice email from Apple (like many others) this morning and the money has been taken from my credit card on May 22 (same as shipping date).

The TNT consignment number still isn't working on the TNT website (no surprise there lol) but after just speaking to my local TNT depot, they confirm no iPads will be delivered before Friday (he said they won't have any delivered before Thursday anyway!).

Would be nice to know where it is now tho lol

Could you not just get the the app form of the widget? You still get push and the nice UI. I'm not sure how the costs compare though...

I already had the other stuff, so I just hooked it all together. It is working quite well.

I didn't know the iPhone app had push notifications.

on a lighter note - whilst waiting for my plane with ipad to get here - i was just thinking it could be worse the plane could be piloted by Frank Lapidus - THAT Dude has taken off but never landed in an aircraft !! oohhhh errr

Well been watching last few days so had to join in. Typing on my ipad wifi but not for long, gf getting this as got a 32gb 3G model on the way with TNT UK hopefully for friday, still had no invoice but got e mail from Apple this morning about 8am ipad store sales starting

Although mine shipped 3 days ago, Apple have still not taken the money from my account.

I assume that they have 'reserved' it.

I'll feel a lot happier when they do withdraw the funds because that somehow places them under an additional obligation.

I think Apple have quickly realised this was/was about to happen and has been contacting shipping companies accordingly.

I got my invoice email from Apple this morning, and the money has been taken off my account. I am off work Thursday and friday, so now sitting tight until then. if it comes on Thursday great, but its no big deal, Friday is the offical day and it is only another couple of days to wait, I can't understand why some people are so upset about not receiving it before Friday, we (the UK) have waited already since the beginning of April, so surely another couple of days isn't going to make much different. Patience people, iPads will be here soon

I have just taken delivery of my Griffin Elan Leather Ipad case via my usual UPS delivery driver we usually exchange pleasantry's i said to him "you'll be busy on friday with all these ipad deliveries?" he said "tell me about it! the op's manager had tried to spread the load but he had received orders from head office not to deliver any till the 28th.

This is serious privacy violation, anyway... they're not even supposed to know what's in the parcel! An Apple parcel coming from Holland, okay... in theory it might be anything. Why hold them there? I think they may have received a request from Apple, certainly not an order...

Several guys from the Italian Mac forum just called TNT and UPS and they were all told that their parcels should be out for delivery tomorrow...

By the sounds of the anecdotes, Apple is quickly trying to stop this by contacting the shipping companies, shame they had to catch on so quick...

I called TNT this morning and they told me that mine will be out for delivery on 27th. I'd booked 28th off so i could await the delivery so she contacted the Liverpool depot and they have agreed to hold it on the 27th and i can pick it up on the way home, she said nothing about them having to hold until 28th.

The email i received from Apple does state that it will be on or before 28.05.2010

Fortunately we have 3 here in work to play with whilst waiting (I'm a developer)

The other plane that stopped in Dubai has now continued its journey as well.

I think they have stopped scanning them because i dont think it takes 24 hours to go from hong kong to glasgow!?!?!?!?!?

You arent allowing for the long periods of time when the parcel is ready to go but the plane hasnt arrived to carry them yet. Once they have been scanned at HK it can easily be 24-32 hours before they are scanned at the other end, allowing for potentially many hours before the plane leaves etc.

Mine says billing info on the UPS site but I called them and they say they dont even have it yet!

I then called Apple who are not even confirming its coming with UPS they say it should be but it might come with someone else. It doesnt make sense.

Esp. after someone gets theirs today via UPS!

I'm in pretty much the same boat. I looked and they have still not taken my money. And my UPS tracking has been on 'Billing information received' and the tracking option is gone from the apple site.

we've been tracking both flights from HK with the iPads in most of the day

last one in the air has only another hour left of flight time before going on to the UK

a UPS van just arrived on my street and I ran out expectantly but wasn't for me

I rang my local distribution centre and they said that are many 'high value' packages from Apple which they have yet to take possession of, thus only Apple would know when they would hand them over.

Looks like we won't be getting them for a few days
