I'm getting so fed up of seeing this? do you think i should phone apple or UPS and find out why mine isnt tracking, or are there alot of people in this predicament? i don't know, so confused.

Mine is exactly the same - my iPad supposedly shipped on Saturday, first got the tracking No.s from the US Store on Sunday evening and from the UK store yesterday afternoon, but still UPS knows nothing... Quite frustrating as my order must have been in the first thousand or so in the UK store (placed 1203 GMT) and was paid straight away (using Maestro, so none of the pre-auth / return / pay stuff that CC users get). :confused::mad:
 
Mine says billing info on the UPS site but I called them and they say they dont even have it yet!

I then called Apple who are not even confirming its coming with UPS they say it should be but it might come with someone else. It doesnt make sense.

Esp. after someone gets theirs today via UPS!

i'm just getting a bit restless, i am hoping it will come on friday... it was shipped from apple (apparently) on 22nd. But unlike most other people, nothing has happened on the UPS site for me at all, not even billing info.
should i phone apple to double check whats going on? what number did you use?

I'm in the same boat. I have tracking numbers but they don't lead anywhere...

Yes i ordered at 0140 on the 10th. Paid with visa debit, so i think that pays straight away. I have the invoice and everything.
do you think we should be worried about this or will they still come on friday, i'll be annoyed if they are late considering how long we have waited and how early we pre-ordered.

hummm. i notice we are both getting the same model. maybe this model is already stock piled close to us, and won't actually be scanned untill tomorrow or thursday maybe. and we worried over nothing.
 
I used to work for a company who sent all our products UPS.

The way it works with UPS is:

* I have a product I need to sent to customer.
* I login to my UPS account and request a man in a brown jump suit to come collect my package on x day, for a particular delivery service (ie next day delivery)
* UPS issue a tracking number for my product, which I can print off and stick on my product box, the print off has a cool bar code on it, so the UPS man can zap it on collection.
* Once I've printed the tracking number and stuck it on the box, we sent an email to our customer advising of the tracking number (like such apple has to us)
* Although to UPS, this product hasn't been handled by UPS yet. Therefore 'Billing information received' means exactly that, 'they have received instruction to collect a package'
* In next to real-time, once that UPS guy zaps the package at Apple, you'll then get a tracking update to say its been collected and en route to the local UPS depo/hub.

So my guess is, anyone waiting on a UPS delivery (me included) should expect to see tracking information on thursday when UPS collect iPads for Next Day delivery.

I just spoke to a very helpful guy at TNT who said my parcel (iPad 16gb WiFi) was due for delivery tomorrow (26th) but it has been delayed until the 27th.

At least now I know when to expect it (hopefully)!

I'm a little surprised by people worrying. It's Tuesday. I'd be amazed if people don't receive their iPad on Friday.

Mine hasn't gone out yet either (VISA debit) . It doesn't go out straight away it goes out and comes back as a pre-authorisation. Apple treat it the same as a VISA credit card. If it's a Maestro card then it is debited straight away. You will probably find it will be taken anytime soon.

I think if you've had the red 'can't find' error for more than 24hours, then I'd ring apple and clarify you have the correct shipping code.

UPS must have a tracking number and instruction to collect something. They don't just collect packages with addresses on, it has to be pre-booked into their system.

My guess is Apple may have mis-typed the UPS tracking number into the apple control panel - it could just be one character wrong to throw a wobbly.

If you've only recently got the tracking number, as in the last couple of hours, then I'd give it a bit more time, Apple may have got over excited and sent you the tracking number before UPS have actually completed the tracking request on their system.

What does your website tracking status show? Did it ask you to call them? My UK status on TNT shows nothing and international one shows incorrect info

She said they are shipping the ipads in batches, to not over whelm the carriers. Depending on where you live and everything else. Even people with "not yet shipped" but with a 28th date will still 100% get it on friday.

all the tracking number means is apple has paid for the service and booked a date to delivery. but it might not show on UPS system until as late as friday morning if ups pick it up and then delivery it straight away. if the iPad is already being stored locally.
 
Hey is the TAY048 flight the one thats delivering iPads to the UK for TNT? Not sure if I'm looking at the right plane as it doesnt seem to be flying. haha.

im not familiar with HK time but its been almost 24 hours since my tracking has been updated!

Can I ask those who are getting "billing info received" with UPS - are you using a UPS number that is 9/10 digits beginning with 8, or the long one starting 1Z ?

With either I get the red error. My Apple order status tracking links, like many others, have turned grey and unclickable.
 
TAY048 is going from HK to Liege but I think it will be a different plane that goes from TNTs Liege base to airports in the UK. May be a lot harder to track these but at least we'll get more info on the normal TNT delivery tracker by that stage.

im not familiar with HK time but its been almost 24 hours since my tracking has been updated!

Thats because the tracking does not actually tell you when the parcel is flying -ipads probably sat at HK for many hours before the flight took off at about 4.30am UK time (landing in Liege very soon now). TNT tracker could update again anytime between 4.30 and 8pm tonight-ish, this is a guesstimate.
