UK order updated today 21st to SHIPPED!!

Just saw the 'please call' tag on my TNT tracking page, so I gave them a call and got told that it isn't in the country yet, but should be with me on the 27th. They need to arrive and go through customs, but after that, they're available for delivery as soon as possible (including tomorrow apparently).

I don't know what to think now. The 27th was repeated several times, which doesn't gel with previous posts where people have been told they're all being held until the 28th.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow or Thursday!
 
Phoned TNT earlier, and they confirmed that my delivery had reverted back to its original planned delivery date of the 27th.
So, all goes well, I should be in possession of an iPad on Thursday :D

Both coming from China, then? Mine appears to be a UK one, as the tracking code has never worked. Doesn't make sense that those coming from China would arrive first...
 
For those of you with delivery planned by TNT UK, esp those who yesterday had the apple delivery status change to 25th have you had any success in talking to TNT and them actually acknowledging they have a parcel for you?

I've just found out I have to go to Luton Thurs morning and wont be back until late on Friday so what happens if they try to deliver on Thurs and try again Fri with no one there both days?
 
I just spoke to Apple and apparently my iPad was made in Hinckley, Leicestershire so it has been in UK the whole time. You get told something different everytime you ring these people! So TNT must be collecting them and taking them to our local depot
 
Can someone please verify if they used 9 numbers while tracking to get the message to call TNT UK?
 
I used the 9 digit consignment number and got told the 27th or earlier.

Just had a thought - read a previous post saying the shipment is coming to an airport in Leicestershire. Since I'm in Leicester, could this mean a more recent delivery?

If your order is via TNT UK than your iPad has been in the UK the whole time! I got told mine was manufactured in leicestershire you should go out and find your ipad :p
 
I am still 'Not yet shipped'! ( 3G 64GB + o2 sim + Apple Care, ordered 0430 on 10th May). I called Apple again and a nice chap with Southern US accent said not to worry, and not to get carried away with all the MacRumors forums! It will def arrive on 28th.

Piel Frama Case arrived today.

However- still very jealous I cant track the thing yet.:(
 
I have three tracking numbers, Two UPS numbers for the accessories and one TNT UK for the ipad. None of them work. (The TNT is one of the dodgy greek numbers.

If you check your iPad's serial number (from the invoice), does it start with GB like mine does? Does that mean it's manufactured here?

Your iPad is probably going to ship from within the UK too so it won't need that long to get to you! We can't exactly track it properly either their whole tracking system is messed up
 
This is how things have went for me so far:

Preordered on 10th at 4am.

A couple of days ago it started to show as now shipping.

On Apple's order details page, I was able to see lots of numbers including tracking numbers for the courier (UPS). Using the delivery tracking widget for OSX, I tried using the tracking number for UPS tracking, and my order number for Apple. The UPS didn't work and still doesn't. The Apple number did work and the widget said that it was shipped, and set for delivery on Friday. All as expected.

But today, things are different. Firstly, the widget no longer says it will be delivered on Friday... it says Delivery Date Unknown. Still shows as shipped though. A little more worrying, the Apple website has changed. I can still see my order and view the prices etc. But all the links to pages about delivery information have vanished. No tracking numbers or anything available. And the part of the order details page that says when the items will be delivered previously said "Delivered by 28th May 2010" but now it has a long random number that makes no sense to me, instead of a date.

Weird.

Nope, mine is TNT International, coming from Shenzhen. I do like the idea of finding an iPad nearby though.

Yeh mine is GB but I think everyone has that? But apparently according to Apple lady on the phone mine was manufactured in UK. It would be good if those tracking their TNT international can confirm if they have GB serial number too or not

Nah mate my tracking number begins with 811 (I used the ref. TNT gave me not apples shipping number)

I had the please ring message when I checked on the TNT website this morning and got my shipping email from apple on Saturday evening / Sunday morning.

If I use my consig number on the TNT domestic tracker, it says 'Please Call'.

Yes you do and most of the time, what they tell you is rubbish. Neither Apple nor any of its contractors who physically assemble its products have factories in the UK (or the US for that matter). The physical assembly is all done in China, maybe Taiwan. Giving the Apple person the benefit of the doubt, he or she probably wasn't lying to you but confused the info that the iPad entered the UK at Hickley, Leicestershire to mean it was built there. It's not. There is no secret underground Apple factory in Hickley.

I've also got an 811 number which was my delivery reference number from Apple in my shipping notification e-mail. So did you put the 811 number in the UK website of TNT?
