They have to say that though because its something thats beyond their control so they cannot bet their life on a delivery date if its yet to clear customs. Nothing to worry about yet unless the tracker actually showed a customs-related delay.
 
Looks to me like the plane that went to Dubai has gone on to Sweden so that other one we were tracking earlier probably was the right one.
 
Ughh, I thought the tracking would be updated by now, if they had arrived in Liege. Considering most of the hub is going to be computerised.
 
just spoke to the TNT call centre and spoke to a lovely south african lady who said my ipad 16gb wifi had a due date of the 27th May. I had the please call bit under the status on the tnt uk site tracking so rang and thats what they said. It was one of the ipads thats final update was: 24 May 2010 18:03:48 Hong Kong Shipment In Transit.

Same here bar the south African lady, the lady i spoke to said the same thing!

i'm at work on thursday, though gonna speak to the TNT delivery guy we have at work (hopefully he'll come in tomorrow) and see if he can throw it in to work rather than at home where no one will be home! I booked Friday off to sit at home and wait for the delivery, I suppose now (if it arrives on Thursday) I will have all of Friday to play with my new toy rather than wait most of the day for the delivery!
 
Okay i just checked TNT UK website and beside "status" is says "please call" why do i have to call? do i need to in order to make sure my ipad is delivered? I re-checked on the international TNT site and it seems fine but still stays my ipad is in transit from HK.

what should i do? or can i safely wait till thursday/friday for my ipad? :confused:

When you call they will probably just tell you it's coming on the 27th!

I would be happy just getting info on the TNT page..always get not found or some Greek address delivered last month.... its a bag of *****e this tracking
 
AnDi86, oh okay lol but i dont NEED to phone to have my ipad delivered? do you just phone if you want tracking information? Just worrying incase it doesnt come by friday lol!
 
It is amazing how quickly things change on this forum. A week ago it was "Will there be a problem with my money?" "Will the ash cloud get in the way?" etc. Now it is "Will I get it early?".

I love tracking parcels (nerdy I know) but all of this calling TNT and UPS is getting a bit over the top really, it won't bring them any sooner. Ah well, each to their own I guess but it just doesn't seem to be achieving anything as no one knows what the hell is going on!

Now if you will excuse me, I am going to relax, crack open a beer and repeatedly hit refresh on my tracking widget for the evening. :D
 
Mines shipping with UPS but unable to track for whatever reason. I got the email invoice. The money still hasn't gone out of my Lloyds TSB Visa Debit account either, hoping it goes out tomorrow/thursday. I'm not panicking about anything. I thought it would arrive Friday and still think it will.

We are on the final stretch guys.....it sure has been a lot of fun.

May not be any point in tracking the planes anymore, and its not that unusual for there to be a long gap on the tracking because it doesnt actually tell you when it is really on a plane, we have just been speculating based on known flights from HK.

The TNT map of their main craft is here, but it wont show much of interest at the moment as there are no large flights from HK right now, the one we anticipate the ipads were on already landed hours ago:

Give it a few hours to see if the tracking updates to say its arrived at the next step, if not then let a new round of speculation commence. Personally I wont start fretting unless the tracking hasnt updated b the time I get up tomorrow.

This is interesting...just called the TNT UK freephone number as my status had
"Please call" alongside it. After a short wait, pleasant lady checked my consignment number and told me that there had a been a delay of one day owing to a national holiday in HK. Then told me another customer had called with a similar query, also awaiting delivery from HK. Then she added, almost as an afterthought "...so it should be out for delivery tomorrow". I'm having the iPad delivered to my work address in Leicester. We shall see...

We are indeed, and it has. I'm sort of going to miss the camaraderie - we'll most likely all go our separate 'net ways and only cross paths now and then on these forums once we get our iPads.

I'm in the same boat as you - shipping with Unreliable Postal Service (as we call it around here ;) ), but unable to track it yet. No money gone either but there is plenty of time.
