You do know that it's not going to be the person in the call centre's fault, don't you? And that the ruder, more obnoxious a caller is, the less inclined anyone is going to be to try to help them out...

At least start being polite and adult but be reasonable in terms of what you expect to get out of it. If you just want to let steam off without achieving anything (which is what will happen if you just call and shout at the first person), you'll save yourself cash and someone else some pain by not bothering to dial first.


Somebody explain...how when I placed my order at before 08:10 and I have a mail at 08:12 confirming the order. I don't get my order tomorrow, when it is suppose to be first come first served. Lottery comes to mind!
 
Yay - I've been away since Tuesday. Just come back and checked my email and I have a tracking number with DHL :D

Great news - saves having to go to O2 early tomorrow morning...

Defo not getting it and they dont know when they will get more in.

To top it off 14 days for a refund FFS!
 
Ordered 12.40PM on Monday.
Got 3 e-mails on same day.
Order went to "complete" at lunch time today
At 4.30PM I got a text from O2 saying it will be delivered tomorrow.

My order status with o2 is now set to complete and by logging on to DHL tracking website and it now says the following

Parcel Picked Up 10/07/08 03:20 O2 to CUSTOMER LOCATION

Although iv not recieved any text messages, i think thats promising :)
 
Well my order completed by 08:10!!! and I ain't getting my tomorrow and they've taken my payment also....would agree

Unbelievable! Me too! Order completed by 0810, confirmation by 0812, called Tuesday evening to confirm everything OK - told it was - and then out of the blue a text this afternoon at 1700hrs saying my order was sucessful to be delivered on the 18th!

Well, I have booked a day off work (which is effectively worth £250 to me!) and at 1700 it is a bit too late to cancel that holiday!

Got home and called O2 straight away. Cust svc reps have been briefed extremely well on how to handle this, they provide a commentary of how it was a "pre-order", that it was first come first served and that due to very high demand I was unsuccessful. I stayed very calm and asked how come others that had ordered hrs later managed to get a successful order. They didn't really explain this and just said that they could only provide the info they had been given.

I was also given my "options":

- Continue with order and wait
- Go to store tomorrow - but have to cancel web order (it cannot be transferred to store!)
- Cancel order completely

I decided to cancel completely and was then told I would have to wait 714 days for a refund! It just gets better!

To be honest this has left such a sour taste in my mouth that I am seriously considering not even bothering with this damn phone. Throughout the call I remained amazingly calm and even said to the guy I understood it wasn't his fault but also emphasised just how badly O2 have handled this whole affair.

So what do I do now.......? For some strange reason I see myself getting up at 0400 and queuing outside my local O2 store for 2hrs - probably to be told that they have sold out or have not got any 16gb in stock!

Confirmation yesterday and DHL tracking number - today O2 shows mobile no. and billing date. Got confirmation text at 5pm confirming delivery tomorrow.

Well - I had being trying to order from 08:00 until successful at 0945 - so maybe I got points for perseverance :) !!

Oddly enough I was trying to order as a completely new user but get getting the error page - eventually I found my old logon for an O2 PAYG sim that I had registered a couple of years ago. I logged onto the O2 site with this and was successful in ordering (could be co-incidence)
 
glanv - I'm in exactly the same situation as you.

I really don't want to give O2 my money, but have no choice if I'm to be an iPhone owner.

An apology would have been nice, as they've obviously f****d up with a fair few of us.
 
I appologise to anyone without a tracking number annoyed and angry at o2 as what I am going to ask would annoy me so much if I was in your situation...

Has anyone got their delivery status on DHL's site gone past the "parcel pick-up" as mine is still on that and I am wondering what others status is...
 
Don't think it's going by first come first served basis...

I started trying to order about 9:30 - 10am. Got my DHL tracking number today with three other O2 emails.

Tried a lot though so maybe it is persistence! Or maybe it's the type of iPhone chosen. I went straight for the Black 8GB one because there was no upgrade cost on my £45 contract and I pay for insurance? Maybe these are all factors? Maybe it was just a random lottery??

I was on the phone to O2 today and the person I spoke to assured me that her system said I would receive it by 10am.

Hopefully for those of us without tracking numbers it's just a cock-up in the tracking process, rather than actual non-delivery. No way to know for another ten hours really...


Oh yeah, money was taken from the account on tuesday, funny how they can always get that bit right isn't it?

It seems odd that they're saying it was first come first served. I ordered at about 9:30am (16GB model), never got any confirmation email, and had a text this afternoon saying that it was on the way and would be delivered tomorrow. Can't be fun for people who emailed before 9 and didn't get one.
 
well if it's any consolation it seems that all our iPhones that we are getting tomorrow are sitting in a nice warm warehouse in Leeds. Surely they should have started being sent out to there respective depots by now?

Same here... (although didn't pay the extra for early delivery). Guy I spoke to from O2 this evening said my order might be shipped to be delivered Friday evening or Saturday morning though.
 
I phoned DHL today and they said that we would get our phones tomorrow BUT that they could arrive anytime up to 9pm as they were scheduled for afternoon/evening delivery!

I hope that is wrong but as you said its 1am and they still seem to be in Leeds! Which doesn't bode well if you live on the south coast like me!

As everyone says - they knew what the demand would be from people registering their interest, I'm sure this whole debacle could have been handled much better...

Well, I'll be on here in the morning to congratulate the lucky buggers who do get one, hopefully some of us poor saps might get lucky as well!
 
Well it's now half one and everything's still in Leeds by the looks of it. Kinda thinking i didn't need to take tomorrow morning off work now. Oh well i guess this bodes well for those still without a tracking number, they may still be adding to the consignments!!

Will be might miffed though if i have to wait till 9pm tomorrow night for my phone though, thats 19 and 1/2 hrs yet!! Rubbish!!
 
Well my tracker updated at 1:44am. Now showing that my iPhone is at the delivery depot which, for me, is in Widnes. It's literally 15 minutes from me right now. :'( I wish I could go and pick it up!
