Finally got through to the correct department after lots of random bashing my phone's keypad with my forehead and didn't get too much info.
The lady I spoke to said as I had received confirmation emails I did have one allocated, but she couldn't tell me when I would get it. Said it should be friday or monday though.
Could be worse.

And there is too much BS around about 'nice ladies' at o2 who can tell that an in progress order WILL ship tomorrow. None of the ones I've spoken to can tell you any more than the o2 tracker can.

Does bug me a little that people who ordered hours later than some have already got dhl numbers (and potentially phone numbers by the looks of things). But then I can't really complain, at least I wasn't trying fruitlessly to do an upgrade like so many! Stupid o2.

I know what you mean, I was annoyed at the fact that so many people who had ordered after 9am were getting definite orders first. I had mine done at 8:13am and finally have my shipping number, which means that there is still hope for anyone who ordered around the same time as me and haven't heard anything yet.

I hope O2 does get round to everyone more or less by tomorrow. I find it pathetic that O2 claimed it to be first come first serve :(

My DHL is now displaying LEEDS Branch. I dunno if that means it's there though, or that it has been booked. Seems odd it's been updated a second time though, rather than just saying shipment data received.

I only got a order confirmation e-mail this morning after using the failover form.

And at about 5pm I got a completion e-mail and tracking number from o2.

I entered it in the "indent" section on DHL's site and it says

Shipment Data Received 09/07/08 LEEDS SERVICE CENTRE

It is down as next day delivery according to O2 but I doubt it will actually be with us tommorrow - Friday will have to do.

Having said that the lady I spoke to at o2 on the phone said they could arrive tommorrow or Friday! But I doubt it - if you wake up in the morning and it says out for delivery then we will be very lucky!
 
Just got my e-mail to confirm shipment and tracking number.

No details on the DHL site yet, but it might take a couple of hours to feed through.

Normally when a parcel is shipped the company shipping it scan the parcel and this sends the details of the consignment through to the courier. It will normally show as something like "Data Received (Date, Time) + Branch Name".... in this case it looks like Leeds is the hub collecting the shipments from O2 warehouse.

Once the goods are collected you should see a collection scan and then a scan for it arriving at the Leeds branch. Followed by scans to the central hub, back out to your local DHL depot and finally a scan to say on the van for delivery.
 
I spent around 8 hours trying to place an order on Monday. In the end I managed to get a response from the failover screen, but it just said that I would be contacted if there were any problems.

I had given up hope as I had heard nothing until a few moments ago!

I have now received 2 emails from o2.

1st email thanked me for my order
2nd email informed me that ' your order has been passed to our warehouse for processing'

Still no DHL tracking number as yet, but having read the previous posts I now feel more confident that I will be in possession of a shiny new iPhone on Friday!

I've frantically been hitting refresh and suddenly the email with my consignment number came through! So to all those starting to doubt - who've been told it's not coming by people at O2 - don't believe a word of it.
 
Just realised that in MyO2 the contract is now showing as expiring on 8th November 2010...

That is the 10 months that was remaining on my old contract (an iPhone one from launch day last year) plus the new 18 months agreed to when I upgraded on Monday.

So does this mean that the new 18 months is on top of your existing contract or that they have made a mistake in the system?

I reckon they have some poor folks working all thru the night to sort it out...

still nothing here and my order for a 16gb was done buy 9am and 3 emails by 10am :(

That's what's annoying - I ordered just after 9am, got the 3 emails and nothing. Some orders placed around midday have gone through and been allocated.

If it doesn't show up as completed by tomorrow I am intending to go to a store on Friday and get one. My concern now is whether they will turn me away as the system will show that I already have an order in progress. ARGH!
 
emails don't mean a thing, I have had no emails not even one, and i got my tracking order a thew hours ago.. :)
