I'd say stick with your order! If your a guy this might sway the 38mm vs. the 42mm boat. Think of it this way, you'll have a smart watch that has all day battery life and great screen realestate! You'll just have the oversized look, giver or take. But only time will tell! My brother and I have the same wrist width and some how maybe his skin tone or just his personality makes the 38mm looked way to small on him, which is odd cause the 38mm is perfect for myself.
Jelling! I would have gotten the SS if it wasn't for me working in the health care field as well. However, here is something to think about...
When I was trying on the 38mm SS with modern buckle it changed the look of the watch (made the watch seem smaller on my wrist), we ( Associate and I) determined that it was because the way that the band is a straight cut in width and also the flat texture of the band. In contrast to the classic leather band, where the band tapers from wide at the base of the watch, to thin at the prongs and wholes at the end of the band, plus the actual texture of leather.
In short stick with bands that taper from wide to thin, if its anything like the modern buckle where its a straight cut band it could change the appearance of the watch.
After all in fashion, color, size, and shape not matter how small it is, can make a huge difference in how its perceived.
