I'm a husky, tall guy, but i'm a B... the 42 looked alright on my wrist and I actually thought the 38 looked good too. I have a square watch thats similar in size to the 42 and it does look a little big on my wrist, and I also have 38mm watches that looks good on my wrist. I believe Ic an truly pull off both... I preordered a 38 and hopefully it'll be here on friday!! I'm thinking of just trying it out and if I don't really like it then i'll go to a 42, but I think the 38 will be fine.

I tried on both the 38mm and 42mm Sport at the Apple Store last week. I ordered the 38mm as I thought the 42mm was a tad too big. Everyone agree?

It's up to you. A credit card hides my wrist but I got a 42mm and it looks great. The 38mm was too small for me to my tastes.

Hard to discern, you'll be wearing the watch lower on your wrist like the bigger 42mm on you in that photo. The 38mm is way to high on your wrist. If you had one on each wrist it would be better to compare and contrast.

Since your wrist width tapers though I would say that both could work... in your favor too; the 38mm.

Yeah good call! I forgot to add the other pics :)

I like how the 38mm looks on my wrist compared to the 42mm. I'm just not 100% sure lol. My wife thinks the 42mm is too big.

I think you could get away with either but I think the 42mm is the better look. That's just my personal opinion though and I think it might have a lot to do with the 38mm being silver and having a white band and the 42mm being the sg and having a black band.

Different factors involved

I have spent quite a long time investigating the best size for me. I have average-sized wrists and both sizes seem to "work". One thing that I realized is that a smartwatch is used in a different way than an old-style watch. For me, I found that the 38mm looked a little better but the 42mm was a little easier to use.

Your wife is right :p

In all seriousness it looks great, whether you pick the 38mm or 42mm. It looks like you already made up your mind though....38mm!

Lol she thinks she's always right :D

Thanks for the input! Yeah I like a more discreet look and the 38mm does that for me!

Thanks! I like the silver face better but I think the white band will get dirty really easily so I am probably going to buy a separate black band. I saw someone post a pic with the silver face and black sport band and it looked real nice!

(38mm)
I'm an asian dude, 1,7m tall, 150mm wrist, the width is nearly exactly like a credit card.
For me it's pretty hard to decide, hadn't any time to test out the 42mm.

That looks perfect, keep it.

I've got my 38mm sport yesterday. Used it for whole day today. The outlook is ok when wearing it on my wrist. However, the clock face (traditional style) looks a bit small. May be it is the problem of square watch. May be I need to change to digital clock face for easier time reading.:)

This is a great thread and opening post. Awesome.

My sister is a fashion guru and works very well with jewelry. She agreed with this post. I am a B. The 42mm looks good to me but she said it definitely looks like a toy on my wrist.

I got my 38mm in mail yesterday. Feels small but according to her it looks perfect. I have gotten many positive comments on it and the fit. Glad I listened.

I am on the verge of returning the 38mm and getting a 42mm. Your feedback is much appreciated!!

And I feel the photos make the watch look a tad bigger than it really is in real life.

Ultimate Sizing Guide for Watch By An Actual Stylist.

I'm so glad I have girly wrists (about 150mm). The second I tried on a 42mm the store guy and I was like noooooooo lol.

This is a 38mm, looks like a good fit if not slightly large. I got nods of approval for this one.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429983579.023929.jpg. They didn't have the smaller band set up so it looks loose

In any event this guide is pretty good but in all cases you should really try before you order.

It depends on the looks you're going for. My first impression is that the 38 looks a little bit skimpy.

What do you think?
Keep this 38mm Watch or go for a 42mm?

Image

If that is a 38 then keep that one. I can't imagine a bigger watch on you. That looks good but I think a 42 would look too large.

I think the 38 looks a little skimpy to me. Unless a man is particularly short and/or very slim I think most all men look best in a 42.

If undecided go small... If you look at the watch thread 90% have ordered a 42 and it's too big. It's not a phone or a normal smart watch you will be able to read everything on a 38 just as easy...
