Ok. And what happens when you press install?
It says "Verifying" for a while and then it just goes back to the screen with "Install" on it. And, then,I receive a notice on my iPhone telling me that it's not connected to the Internet.

I also have Nightstand Mode enabled.

I just received my Series 6 Titanium Edition just 4 hours ago and I'm having the exact same issues. Contacted Apple Chat for at least 1 hour and nothing worked, Yes I did everything that everyone here tried and then called apple on the phone, they also tried everything and couldn't get it to update. They made an appointment for me with the Apple Store but I will cancel it after reading this thread, not confident, they told me they might have to send it away to fix it if the store can't update it.
I wasted 4 hours of my time today and I feel it will be another 3 hours wasted tomorrow going to the store.

I wonder how Apple will fix this because it can't be fixed through OTA update because updating to OTA is the problem, and it's not gonna work because i tried even the 7.1 beta and the problem still there.

I just received my Hermes series 6 and I am having the same issue! I have just spent the last 2 hours trying everything to get it to install.
Same issue here on my new Apple Watch Series 6 that was delivered yesterday. I have been trying for the past 2 hours now as well. Unlinked my watch, restored to factory settings, soft reset of phone and watch, etcetera. Deleted the download from the watch and re-downloaded. I am at a loss here, it seems like a software bug? My Series 4 worked just fine.

My brand new Apple Watch S6 stuck on "Verifying" while trying to update to 7.0.2. My S4 had no problem updating to 7.0.2.
After 30 minutes of "Verifying" this error showed up: "Unable to Verify Update".

Getting the same issue on Apple Watch S6 - this is my first Apple Watch and what a bad experience...

Tried everything from restoring, setting up as new again, using Hotspot instead of WiFi...

I suppose it's not my watch's issue if everyone is getting the same issue which relaxes me a bit.

Well, we don’t know how widespread the problem is. If you search around you’ll find that similar issues have been reported for various updates for several years. The issue faced by those of us in this thread is not exclusive to this particular WatchOS update.

I am still trying to solve this. I am even trying my old AirPort express to see if perhaps WiFi is an issue. What I do notice is that if I disable WiFi on the Watch, I see the red rectangle icon (
watchos-watch-iphone-disconnected-inline-icon.png
) that says that it is not connected to my iPhone, even though BlueTooth is enabled. Somehow it seems like the the watch is unable to communicate with the iPhone over BlueTooth? Perhaps that is causing the issue?

I switched off the wifi - mine is communicating well via bluetooth, still no luck - update cannot be verified.
I saw somewhere on the web that if you disable the passcode on the watch the problem will be solved.

I just complete reset the watch again, remove it from the watch app as well as from icloud devices. Set up done, and immediately trying to download the update on the watch seemed to work. When the blue bar was full and the download was complete, it started on the orange bar to prepare the installation. About three quarters through, the orange bar suddenly ended and the installation ceased. Whenever you tap the 'install' button now, it keeps complaining that the update cannot be verified because you'r not connected to the internet.

It seems like something happens during the preparation phase of this firmware that is not supposed to happen?

I tried again, completely resetting the watch, now not setting a passcode and going through the cycle again. The blue download bar completes, and the preparation step seems to get further this round but again failed when it was almost done. It's also not possible to remove the download as under 'usage' you don't see the downloaded firmware so the only way to retry it to o the full reset and setup cycle again.

HI Guys I have iphone 12 and Watch 6, I cannot upgrade to 7.02 version Tried restoring Watch and the phone, spend an hour with Apple support but no help

I've had this the past couple of days with my brand new Series 6 and I tried everything! Unpaired twice, forgot and re-joined networks, toggled Bluetooth on/off, messed with router settings, but nothing worked.

I ended up installing the watchOS 7.1 beta instead and that installed fine.

Same here with my S4. Have tried everything mentioned, yes, through trying to start it from the watch as well. 😊 Frustrating and time consuming...unpairing and repairing alone took forever. I’ve spent the better part of the morning googling and trying everything suggested to no avail. I did not go to a neighbors or library/wherever to use a different internet connection—I’m a covid believer so thanks but no thanks to that!

I‘m worried what will happen if the problem persist after next update. So the watch will stay forever on 7.0.2. Some user report they are stuck on Watchos 7 and can’t update to 7.01 and after 7.0.2 was released nothing happened.
And if you can go to Apple store and ask, I’m living in banana country with no-Apple support coverage at all.

Just got my Nike series 6 and am having the same problem. The only thing I haven't tried is a different wifi network.
