Here we go. It's hard to notice but it's there. The center right portion of the display is slightly warmer than the left side. I immediately noticed this in the Apple store but didn't feel like dealing with it at the time. I thought maybe it wouldn't bother me once I got home and started using my new device but it just makes me mad that for $1500 the colors/tint aren't evenly distributed. Also, I apologize in advance for the potato IQ and the reflection but even with these elements the difference in screen uniformity is still pretty apparent.

For those of you who have the 2016 MBP, does your screen exhibit similar properties? Use the link below to spot any differences in color/tint.

I have the 15" base and have not noticed anything like that, but also haven't really looked. I will say I don't think there's much difference from a 2014/15 MBP and the 2016 model screen-wise.

purely anecdotal, but that's 2 for 2 outspoken people with A033's on the 13" front. don't mean to start a witch hunt, and the sample is way too small to be significant, but

(also may want to post same thing in that thread, since I am doing a collective curious search of which panels are out there, and peoples opinion of theirs who feel like chiming in)

my A034 is beautiful, and I doubt fault free since all panels have unique characteristics, but totally a screen I'm continuously excited to look at

best of luck! keep us posted

Damn. Everything else about my display is amazing and blows the one in my MBA out of the water. Colors are vibrant, and text is razor sharp. But the lack of uniformity on a machine that I plan on keeping for the next four or so years is just going to drive me crazy.

my screen has non-uniform tint as well. slightly pinker on the left and slightly greener on the right. A031 here

for sure, if you have the credit limit and it were me, id try another and return the lesser.

you don't want one thats worse, that'll leave you feeling more rotten,

I agree but at the same time I don't want to tie up that kind of money. As much as I hate playing the Apple screen lottery though, I might try to go back to my local store and swap machines either tomorrow or Sunday.

yeah I mean if you aren't happy with the replacement either, its your money ya know

screen is the most important thing beyond functionality Imo (what else is there? I can deal with build quality quirks but my machine is top notch build too) I lucked out

It'd be better if you posted a photo of an all white or neutral gray screen instead of the Apple website...

I'll try to post an image like that but it was actually harder to notice a difference on an all white background through my Phone's camera.

I have A033 and don't see this issue... It may be there but I don't see it... To my eyes, the screen on my unit is perfect! :D

Here is a screenshot of my A033:

screen capture doesn't capture characteristics of your screen, you have to actually take a photo of it

A033 here. Just did full white screen and full black screen tests (both at max brightness). This has to be the most uniform display I've ever had. Scrutinized for about 10 minutes and can't find anything remotely uneven.

I don't see an issue with this? I guess I'm lucky :)

I posted mine in another thread, look at my replies under profile and you will find a picture in one of the replies.

Mine is not perfect but I don't honestly think 'perfect' exists in the world of LCD screens. I think acceptable to you is what you need to look for.

As I said, yours looks acceptable to me.

I have a perfect LCD display at work. Big caveat is that it's an $18,000 display, so doesn't really count in this context.

However, my new 15" tbMBP is pretty darn good.

I thought mine was in my post above with the screenshot..

Here it is:

I purchased my 13" MacBook TB base and it was god awful. Right side 2 x darker than left. Didn't even both to setup iCloud. Returned it on the same day. They need to do more to get my $2700AUD.

This is what I get on my 15" €3200,- machine ..

Don't get it ... is my standard so high or are company's like Apple and Sony just getting worse in terms of screen quality??

This is the light bleed in a Sony 4K I've bought last Friday :-( but a lot of people say it's "normal" with an LED panel..
