I want a date of when I can order my white iPhone 4! That is all I wanted. End of july SHipping says nothing.

I didn't see the press conference. So Apple is no longer claiming it's a "software" issue/fix?

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/969425/

It is not as simple as saying every phone has this problem. Every phone has this problem to a DEGREE. The iPhone 4 goes one step further, where you lose all connectivity. I don't get txts, i don't get data, etc if im "holding it wrong"

On a BB, android phone, on the older iPhones, etc you can hold it anyway and you won't lose all data connectivity, it will just be slowed. That is the difference and problem with the retarded iP4 design.

Where is the 3G / 3GS antenna? I have been holding my iPhones the same way and never had such a bad signal issue until the 4.

Could be pure speculation but I think that's why Steve Jobs said the "free bumper" ends on Sept 30. He said it's to "give us the opportunity to reassess".

Perhaps it's because all phones sold after that date will have an isolation layer that's being implemented in their production lines right now? I could be just fantasizing.

To the unsatisfied: there is no right to owning an iPhone. Unhappy? Return it. Nothing beats voting with your wallet. The new Motorola Droid is a very decent alternative.
There is no right in -not- wanting for a phone to be exactly the way you would want it to be. Sure, some companies might have liked that, but no cigar.

What can I say. I am greedy. I also find the processor slow, the screen resolution insufficient, want full HD video out, and for the thing to be waterproof. Any problem?

Only through consumer demand/greed companies get better. Not bend overing.

All I ever wanted was SJ to be honest and treat his audience with genuine respect. But even the press conference was him treating us all like morons.

Then don't buy their products - get a refund

But SJ couldn't have stood on that stage in front of the worlds press and told bare-faced lies .... he just can't ... if he made false claims about it then he's at risk from organisations like the SEC for manipulating the stock price.

But at the end of the day - he has now stood on that stage, said his piece and now its your decision as to whether you believe it or choose to voice your opinion in the only meaningful way and stop giving apple your money.

1.) Every phone does not have this problem.

2.) I want Apple to come up with solution that doesn't involve dressing up a $700 phone with a $30 case.

I want Steve Jobs to design a girl that loves me for who I am instead of what I have. Without that, I will never be happy with the iPhone.

But He Offered you a FREE Case, so to be perfectly honest if you use a case you will also protect your phone, I love the look of the i4 Nude, but I also want to protect my investment, accidents do happen.

I want a Free Phone :D

I want a photo of a Hot Babe with Big Boobs Naked for my Home Screen Too

No Really JK I want World Peace

Nope I have what I want right here in my Pocket, my Shiny New Working i4 with my cool iFrogz Case :D

SJ lied and told the truth. He told half-truths. He said all phones have the problem. Which is true....to an extent. The iPhone 4 design, with the exposed antenna, is making this "problem all phones have" much worse to the point where one could lose all connectivity, now the phones he tested don't have the lose all collectivity problem like the iPhone 4 has. See, he told a half-truth.

So it sounds like hardware changes are coming, but they won't admit it because they are concerned about lost sales and returns. So they prefer you think the bumper is enough while they quietly fix on new phone coming out in September.

I would like a free iphone in addition to the ip4 I have. I would like it to be neon yellow-green and to glow in the dark.

Not quite right. He admitted it had a dropped call problem, he just put it in perspective-- that was the "1% worse than 3gs" business. It's either a small problem for many people or a big problem for a few people-- he implied it might be the latter. And those people can either take the free case or get a refund.

I think it was a great business move on Apple's part. With all the media hype they had to do something before Whoopi and Letterman get people mad enough to burn down the Cupertino campus. So they admitted there IS a problem and offered a temporary solution to the (based on Apple AND AT&T numbers) relatively small number of people who say they are experiencing the issue. I believe it is a temporary fix to appease the masses until they can figure out a re-design, hopefully released in September. Unless Iphones start blowing up in peoples pockets, I see no reason in issuing a recall. Instead they have offered a way to use the phone until they get things figured out, or ALL of your money back. I personally haven't had any issues with the phone whatsoever, and I want everyone to enjoy theirs as well. But if you aren't, don't use it. Get your money back, or get a bumper and see if that helps. Just my 2.

Simple: A phone that works as it was advertised to work, not some bandaid product.

It does work. If it doesn't work for some reason, return it, or get a replacement. Easy solution.

Can't return it. Already had it replaced once (so the serial number doesn't match the box) and besides, returning a used phone is impossible in Japan. Period.

All I really want is an iPhone 4 that works as well as the 3GS and 3G before it did.

im unhappy that I have to pay a 10% restocking fee since i purchased my iphone through at&t. If this fee no longer exists, then I am completely satisfied.
However I have yet to get a definitive answer. when I called at&t store shortly after the press conference today, they said the fee still is required. But on these forums, some people are saying the fee no longer exists. If anyone has successfully returned their iphone 4 to at&t, and not payed a restocking fee, please let me know.

I want:

For AT&T to hurry and refurb these returned iPhone 4's and sell them at a discounted refurbed price so I can afford one - I am ready to become Happy!

I think most of the loudest complainers probably want an iPhone 4 or a girlfriend but can't afford either so they moan like emo babies on geek forums instead.

If you hold the phone in a way that you know will drop your call, then your call drops, and then you are upset

Honestly, I would be exclaiming Apple's awesomeness if they would have(or next year announcement) told us that we could upgrade to the iPhone 5 at upgrade price next year for our troubles.
This solution is okay, but I also like the coating idea.

You and I are in agreement on this. I just took two back. I did not want to get stuck in a 2 year contract and have Apple come out with a perfect IPHONE5 next summer and me not have eligibility. Let me upgrade next year (discounted) and I would go back and buy the IP4's again.

"There is no right in -not- wanting for a phone to be exactly the way you would want it to be. Sure, some companies might have liked that, but no cigar."

Huh?

"What can I say. I am greedy."

That instantaneously voids your opinion then:confused:

"I also find the processor slow,"

Really? Compared to WHAT? What are you trying to do with your phone that you find the processor too slow to execute? Photoshop? Are you trying to edit with FCP?

"the screen resolution insufficient,"

LOL>...Now we know you're FOS!!!!

"want full HD video out,"

Since when is 720p out of a cell phone not good enough? Are you going to replace you're Blu-Ray player with your cell phone?

"and for the thing to be waterproof. Any problem?"

I definitely hear ya...It just chaps my a$$ not being able to make a phone call while diving in the Bahamas:mad:

"Only through consumer demand/greed companies get better. Not bend overing."

Huh?

You complainers are hilarious! Anyone...I repeat...ANYONE not happy with their iPhone 4 can take it back TODAY....get a full refund, regardless of where you bought it from....OR, you can get a FREE case, which may actually alleviate or eliminate the issue...OR, once again...get rid of it! Take it back! Get a Zoid, or a Razor, or a Brick...whatever...just GO AWAY!!!!

The iPhone is easily one of the coolest inventions of all time! And the iPhone 4 trumps them all....for you to be upset that you can't make a call underwater is just. plain. DUMB! It's not made for you!!!!

I think, the main issue is jealousy, envy, or another half dozen of the deadly sins. If you can't afford it, or your Mom won't let you buy it...you don't need to comment on it!

There are two people in the world...Those with an iPhone and Those without. The former definitely realizes how miserable life must be, to be the latter:eek:

J

They call it a smart phone for a reason and the problems only arose when dumbasses started buying them.
