Just as I thought. They should have cast Charlize Theron for the role.

And don't even get me started about how Halle Berry would have made a perfect Woz.

The actors will be fine. I'm most worried about Sorkin's script for this one. IDK why everyone seemed to love the Social Network, it was all about made-up, silly drama instead of the tech.

Scared this is just going to be pointless and/or made-up human drama with Apple as an afterthought.

So, the problem with Social Network was that it told a different story than the one you were interested in. Got it.

The movie is not made for Apple nerds. When you think of Oskar Schindler, do you think of Liam Neeson or this man?

Edit: I admit that I didn't know what the real Schindler looked like until I wikipediaed him

DEFINITELY THIS...

Now for the life of Bill Gates,

Hooray for HOLLYWOOD!!!

;)

HE DOESN'T NEED TO LOOK LIKE JOBS. Christ we've had films now where despite the actor "looking like Jobs" were terrible. It's about writing, directing, and performance. MF will knock it out.

I am stoked about this one!

So Jobs is played by someone who looks nothing like Steve Jobs and sounds nothing like Steve Jobs. In addition, we have countless hours of footage of the genuine article in keynotes and interviews.

This movie reminds me of the Apple Watch: a solution in search of a problem.

Vin Diesel looks nothing like Steve Jobs. Fassbender has some resemblance and is close enough to play him as long as he got the mannerisms, personality, etc. It's not just about the looks. Kutcher looked like Jobs but I never for once believed him as Jobs.

Just because you don't want to see a Jobs movie doesn't mean there aren't plenty of others who will. This movie will do as well as that social network movie.

Finished reading the screenplay tonight. Have to say it's remarkable piece of drama. I'm a fan of Sorkin and this is his finest work yet. Didn't think he could top The Social Network but this has such great drama and heart and truth.

The fact that some people want jobs to look just like jobs is sad.
It's funny how much Ashton Kutcher looks like Jobs, but Michael Fassbender proved his acting skill in that split-second look. I was so much more convinced by that moment than by all of Kutcher's performance. Whatever else will be said about this movie once it's out there I don't think it will be said that Michael Fassbender was the wrong choice because he doesn't look exactly like Jobs.

Yes, he does.

Not to me. But I did see Steve in the way he was standing in the end scene there in front of the (presumably) Mac he was about to reveal. If he can nail the mannerisms, I *might* be able to look past the fact that he really looks no more like jobs than I do.

The thing about portraying a real person is that an actor can get away with looking only vaguely like him or her if most people don't know what the person looks like. But most everyone knows what Steve Jobs looks like. And it's just extremely hard to look past the physical difference between Fassbender and Jobs, no matter how good he ends up being in the role.

That line in the trailer, "The best thing about you is not supposed to be what you make" doesn't pull any punches. Ouch. At least the film looks strong on theatrical merits.

As someone who knows a little bit about casting and acting. the first thing that was said in that casting meeting was who the F looks like steve jobs and can also say two lines without giving Mr. Danny Boyle and crew an aneurysm.

I would preorder my ticket, but something tells me it won't come till months after the movie release.
