Jobs looked like he was stifling a laugh pretty regularly. I think that was intentional. He always looked like he had a secret that the rest of us were not in on. Mind you, I don't hate Kutcher as an actor. I did think that Jobs was a dull movie. The script wasn't very good.

Like Gary Oldman, Christian Bale has the ability to metamorphoses into just about any character and would have been fantastic. I agree Fassbender will be good, but he simply doesn't look the part and that is a tough thing to overlook for someone so famous.

I would have LOVED Christian Bale in this role. He is a true chameleon and let's face it, we all think he plays "jerk" very well. ;)

The recognizability of the cast takes me out of the movie somewhat, but I guess you have to go with resemblance or talent, and talent is the best way to go.

An actor that looks like Jobs would have been a plus for sure, but it's not critical if the performance is great. We'll see.

I for one would rather have a movie that tells a good story, than an actor that wants to look and emulate SJ exactly. I think Aston Kutcher spent way too much time trying to get the odd gate down than portraying the tortured genius that was SJ.

However this trailer doesn't really tell me if the movie will be good.

You mean "torturer genius"! I wonder if Bill Gates wishes he was a grade A dick so he could have more biopics?

Let's be honest - we're all going to see it.

Speak for yourself. I don't think I could care less about Steve Jobs life or things that happened during it. I certainly do not want to watch a movie about it.

With that said, I like Apple products. Own a Lot of Apple stock. And will continue to buy Apple products even when they do stupid things I wish they didn't.

I'm sorry but Fassbender has absolutely no resemblance to Jobs.

Yea, because casting based on APPEARANCE worked out so well for Ashton Kutcher, didn't it?

Would you guys get over how he LOOKS, and instead judge his performance? He doesn't need to look like Steve Jobs. The movie with Ashton Kutcher got too caught up in how Ashton LOOKED and completely neglected his actual acting performance.

While Noah Wyle could have satisfied both demands, he wasn't cast. Deal with it. It's not the end of the world. As long as Fassbender can deliver a genuine Steve Jobs performance, his appearance is completely irrelevant. I'd much rather the actor captured Jobs personality and charisma, than capture his surface-level appearance.

John Cusack looks nothing like Brian Wilson, but he may very well get an Oscar nomination for Love & Mercy.

I think the issue is not that Fassbender doesn't look like Steve Jobs, the issue is that Fassbender doesn't look like a good actor. Same with Seth Rogen.

Would you rather have someone who looks like Steve Jobs but can't act or someone who can act that doesn't look like Steve Jobs.

It's a movie, I can suspend disbelief while watching while you're up in front of the screen shouting that Fassbender is a big phony.

Is that forbidden in your religion?

So what? If he was tiny and fat with a mustache, that would be horrible. But this?
Michelle Willians did the best Marilyn Monroe ever and she was like 50% of her looks. The movie turned out to be the best one about Marilyn.
Good actors can do it.

The criticism that Michael Fassbender doesn't look like Steve Jobs is both valid and irrelevant to an absurd degree. Actors, act. Great actors act greatly. If physical resemblance is the sole criteria than your criteria are misplaced. Did Ben Kingsley look Gandhi? Oh, I forgot, all Hindus look alike.

Don't be sorry. No one cares that you can't suspend your disbelief.

There is suspending belief and then there is being blindfolded for a movie - even then, they sound nothing alike.

There is a happy medium - apart from a turtle neck in that trailer even the rest of the clothes were of a style that Steve Jobs did not possess (a plain white T? Really?).

No doubt this movie will be a great success and no doubt I will watch it however the point still stands - they look nothing alike.

Lets hope he can pull it off.
