The whole one other smaller movie that came out in the last 15 years or so?
Uh no, the Ashton Kutcher movie was not too long ago. If it's not a movie, it's a book. For goodness sake. The man was visionary, but the end of the day he was just Apple's CEO. He didn't move mountains, he couldn't change the weather, he couldn't part oceans.

There are movies about much lesser things (as one fairly recent and in a sense related example, The Social Network wasn't really any more important and yet did rather well and was enjoyed by many people). And that's what I meant, that there was one smaller movie in the last 15 or so years, having another larger one about the person who has influenced technology quite a bit doesn't really saturate the market on movies about him.

I will be seeing this, but at least they could have done his hair like jobs in his younger days. I didn't think he wore it slicked back? The way the movie portrays Jobs when he was younger looks to be not as believable as when he is older. ( talking about how they made fassbender look)

If you're interested in watching stories about him or Apple then so be it. I'm still entitled to my opinion.

You certainly are, that's not really anything that I was getting at. It seemed like you implied there were just so many movies about him, when there really has been just one smaller one aside from this one that's set to come out (at least in the last 15 years or so).

If this one’s no good, I’m predicting Steve Jobs flicks to be the next Hulk series. They’ll finally get the character right in The Avengers.

haha I was thinking the same thing! The next one will get it right with a new actor and the cast of "the pixar story" joining in a fight against Dreamwork's Animation.

You're right, but on my reply post I did mention books also written. It just seems like nothing but pure capitalism for opportunists. I sometimes wonder if these people even really liked Steve Jobs or are they making these movies and writing these books just to make money?

It can certainly be seen through a prism like that, but I would say it can be seen as a compelling story about someone that is fresh in people's minds relating to something that many people are aware of in one way or another and would be interested in seeing a dramatization of. Similar to The Social Network and its story of Mark Zuckerberg and Sean Parker and Facebook.

Thanks. Getting really tired of the stolen meme.
The trailer looks like they've strung together all the anti Apple/Jobs stuff from the pc media over the decades as well as some interesting new twists like the fire regs bit in the auditorium and hitler salutes. Wonder how much religious cult stuff they managed to squeeze in as well. As if the actual story wasn't dramatic enough, they had to run their dramatic license (probably revoked) in overdrive.
You are aware that that is what trailers do, they pick the few cuts from a movie that create the greatest attention by the viewers of the trailer.

That joke about "the world was created in a week...someday you'll have to tell me how you did it" is stolen from the musical play and movie "1776".

Love Sorkin, but that one line of dialogue from the proggammer about:

"well someday you'll have to tell us how you did it"

was lifted directly from the musical 1776 (which you should all watch this 4th weekend btw):

[Adams has barged into Jefferson's room, accompanied by Franklin, to read the results of Jefferson's work on the Declaration of Independence]

John Adams: You've had a whole week, man. Is it done? Can I SEE IT?

[Jefferson indicates dozens of rejected drafts strewn crumpled about his floor]

John Adams: Do you mean to say that it is NOT YET FINISHED?

Thomas Jefferson: No sir. I mean to say that it is not yet begun.

John Adams: Good GOD! A whole week! The entire earth was created in a week!

[Jefferson turns to face him]

Thomas Jefferson: Someday, you must tell me how you did it.

John Adams: Disgusting.

What if something along those lines was actually said perhaps because the people saw the movie and used the lines in real life (as many of us do in real life when it comes to many lines from many different movies)--what's being "stolen" in that case if the movie is then portraying something that happened in real life?

Let's be honest - we're all going to see it.
Maybe... But I'll hate it even more than the last one. Whilst Steve had negative traits (like any human), this seems to be an overly negative portrayal, forgetting the good. I just don't like the uneducated masses getting the wrong impression, but as The Wizard of Woz once said: "I can enjoy it even if it's very much fiction"

Hard for me to get into this one. The resemblance just isn't there...

I'm sure he's a great actor and all, but resemblance AND great acting make biopics great. Kutcher had the look, not so much the acting, but it made for a decent, though not great, movie.

Daniel Day Lewis playing Lincoln, now THAT is proof you can have your cake and eat it too. Phenomenal acting and a spot-on look. Shouldn't have to settle for great acting with no resemblance, or vice versa.

Just my opinion.
