I think the issue is not that Fassbender doesn't look like Steve Jobs, the issue is that Fassbender doesn't look like a good actor. Same with Seth Rogen.

I won't say much for Seth Rogen. I'm pretty much over his brand of comedy and have a hard time seeing him as anything but the fat Jewish stoner Everyman that he pretty much exclusively plays.

Fastbender though is an outstanding actor. No two ways about it.

How do you know whether he pulls it off when the movie has not been released?

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this. Don't get me wrong, I like Fassbender, he's an excellent actor however he seems out of place in this movie.

Kutcher was good and his costumes/makeup in 'Jobs' were spot-on. However the film was utter yoghurt.
I agree but I think once we reach old Steve then fastbender will look more like sj than Ashton. We will see.

I believe it has been documented that it was indeed stolen from Xerox I think it was.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Well, lots of peoples like seeing it this way because it make a much better story and also because peoples like to see Job as a total ******* that build his own success on the shoulder of other.

The reality is that Xerox themselves we not really interested in building their own computers, and though that Apple would be better than them to create product using the technologies they had developed. So Xerox bought millions of $ of Apple stocks and part of the deal was that they would let Apple visit their research center.

Xerox later made a ******** of money with those stocks following Apple successes.

So no, they stole nothing.

Hopefully, this one isn't like the 'other' one in 2013 -_-

i saw that movie twice. and liked it each time. it's an afternoon time waster and the story holds up. don't know why people who don't have an irrational hatred of Kutcher would have too much of a problem with it.

underrated movie. there, i said it.

Even Tom Cruise would have fit that role better.

Not stole, used. With permission even. I believe jobs couldn't stand it when good tech was not utilised.
It's about execution. Details, Emotions.
If you've ever thrown a fork away because it was stupidly designed, or take a 35$ knife over a 400$ one because its actually better, you understand.

I love those questions.. why do we need a door key. Why start a car. Why turn off a computer.

He looks more like Tim Cook in that thumbnail, perhaps maybe some brown contacts would have helped and showed some more effort.

"The interface was stolen..."

Bit it wasn't stolen, it was part of a deal where Xerox got a boatload of Apple IPO stock at preferential prices in exchange for letting Jobs et al use anything from PARC that looked good to them.

Why is this fact continually misrepresented?

If I were the head of Apple legal, I would be sending a nice letter to the studio to challenge the use of this mischaracterization.

I agree. That part totally threw me out of it. Would Woz actually say something like that? Is that how he feels?

To be fair they got trinkets to what would have been the mother of all patents. Kinda like how we gave beads to the Native Americans for the US.

Are you calling the Xerox Parc people naive and stupid? Their management was short-sighted by basically giving Apple that gui technology because they didn't think it was useful for anything. They probably thought they were getting the better part of the deal because the reason they brought Apple in for meetings in the first place was to partner with Apple to get more exposure for their products.

Thanks. Getting really tired of the stolen meme.
The trailer looks like they've strung together all the anti Apple/Jobs stuff from the pc media over the decades as well as some interesting new twists like the fire regs bit in the auditorium and hitler salutes. Wonder how much religious cult stuff they managed to squeeze in as well. As if the actual story wasn't dramatic enough, they had to run their dramatic license (probably revoked) in overdrive.

Since none of us where there, and it's a matter of who you read, I guess no one really knows for sure.

Sigh. I guess, like the untrue "fact" that Al Gore said he "invented" the Internet, there's no killing the lie that "Apple stole" the interface from AT&T. They paid some millions of dollars to just take a look at the system. They wanted to see an example of a windowed system with a mouse. They took some ideas, and compensated the company for the visit. Now we have the Wozniak character repeating the lie in the trailer.
