Yes finally! Very happy with my M1 Mac mini for audio production but they unleash a beast it might be reason enough to upgrade and give the M1 to my wife. With Monterey the Logic Pro update will likely come as well with Dolby Atmos mixing capabilities. Looking forward A LOT!

Considering this comes from PCMag, I thought it was rather amusing. :D
I guess what ever makes them laugh.
The real concern I have with what's next is the continued use of multiple efficiency cores to maximize battery life in MBPs. In another article MacRumors just posted was suggesting the M1X had 8 performance cores and only 2 efficiency cores????

The transition still isn't 2 years until next November. This show is close to the one year anniversary. Lots they could announce after this show.
If you measure from the launch of the first M1 macs, but you could also count it from the announcement at WWDC which would mean there's about 9 months left, with the final models being shown off at WWDC 2022. That would leave room for a March/April 27" iMac replacement (mirroring the 24" launch earlier this year) and the final Pro machines at their usual WWDC slot.

Sure you could , but most interpret the start as the M1 announcement, we'll see. ;)

Selfishly I would rather see a redesigned, M-whatever, 27” (or more), iMac
Still hopefully for the larger iMac this year!
Q1/Q2 2022, same for the Mac mini “Pro”, these MacBook Pros are critical to Apple’s transition to Apple Silicon. The supply
Is probably already going to be short on these, much less try and ship any other Mac models.

I hope we get a real surprise. MiniLED, old ports and removal on Touch Bar is not exciting. I am not sure I will be impressed if it is “only’ as fast as the current MBP despite drawing half the power. Please embarrass intel/amd offerings.

Aren’t they having supply issues w/ mini LEDs? They may need to stagger out the launches…
Realistically, you are most likely correct. But on the off chance that both the MacBook Pro and iMac are released, I am ready to purchase. I am patiently waiting until the day

The announcement of the transition and the time in between doesn’t count as no consumers could actually purchase an AS-based Mac until November of 2020.

Who cares if Apple goes over the two year timeline? It’s not going to change the fact that they are all in on Apple Silicon.

Just don’t really think there’s that much left. M1 class launched Nov. 2020 and Apr. 2021, M1X class launches Oct. 2021 and could easily be March/ April 2022, covering the MacBook Pro’s, higher end Mac mini and 27” iMac replacement… so what’s left after that? Just the Mac Pro (M1 Pro class?) which is usually shown off at WWDC ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That has the added benefit of freeing up Oct/Nov 2022 for the next gen M2 updates to start rolling out.

I hope they have a decent, and affordable, update to the Mac mini line up and that they have fixed that annoying issue with monitors. I can't justify buying another MacBook Pro or any of the other expensive Macs, I just don't have that kind of money to throw around, but I desperately need to upgrade my old MacBook Pro 15" from 2014. My other Mac is an even older mini from 2012. So I hope they have a new mini that can handle photo and video processing they way I need it to. Otherwise I will have to go back to a Windows machine, which is not a good choice to have to make.

However, I'm really not expecting much except overhyped incremental updates.
