This is the most I've looked forward to an Apple event since 2016.
same here ! I stopped getting excited for them some time ago due to always being disappointed.
I am not sure how they can disappoint me this time, as I expect a refined simple laptop with fast chips [and there is no reason they won't deliver this]

maxed out 14" for me hopefully, if they can keep the GPU specs reasonable.

PLEASE be able to run two 5k monitors. I wanted to pull the trigger last year but the first M1 laptops wouldn't do it and my current MBP is struggling.
YES! The fact that the current M1 MBP and MBA only natively support one external monitor is beyond idiotic. Forcing users to sacrifice CPU bandwidth to drive a hub via DisplayLink is totally unacceptable in 2021, not to mention the lack of Multi-Stream Transport. Pro users want to be able to daisy chain two 4K monitors with one cable. Can't do that with current M1 machines.

Just don’t really think there’s that much left. M1 class launched Nov. 2020 and Apr. 2021, M1X class launches Oct. 2021 and could easily be March/ April 2022, covering the MacBook Pro’s, higher end Mac mini and 27” iMac replacement… so what’s left after that? Just the Mac Pro (M1 Pro class?) which is usually shown off at WWDC ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That has the added benefit of freeing up Oct/Nov 2022 for the next gen M2 updates to start rolling out.
The Apple Silicon Mac Pro is a perfect candidate for WWDC 2022.

FWIW, I think Apple will release the updated Intel W-33xx Mac Pro this coming Monday, at least a press release and a tiny mention during the event.

I would agree if they allowed iPads to run Mac apps via some emulation.

The ergonomics of the iPad Pro + magic keyboard are amazing. But the software limitations of iPadOS make it unworkable for many people.
I don't think running mac apps would be great idea but equivalents need to happen.
Finder, Terminal and Xcode as baseline.

I'm a little bit curious why they didn't make the event announcement yesterday. I guess it wasn't an issue because nobody has to make flight plans. It was good for us Canadians though since we were on holiday yesterday.

Still hopefully for the larger iMac this year!
Q1/Q2 2022, same for the Mac mini “Pro”, these MacBook Pros are critical to Apple’s transition to Apple Silicon. The supply
Is probably already going to be short on these, much less try and ship any other Mac models.
I'm hopeful for the M1X Mac mini sooner rather than later.

As for the M1X iMac, I'm guessing spring 2022.

I hope they have a decent, and affordable, update to the Mac mini line up and that they have fixed that annoying issue with monitors.
That's one reason I've been thinking about the M1X Mac mini or even a late 2022 M2 Mac mini. The newness of the M1 line worries me a bit, esp. given the reports of flakiness with monitors and Bluetooth, among other things.

Too soon for a Mac Mini Pro?
The pundits are suggesting it will not necessarily be along side the new MacBook Pros, but may not be that far off either. But then again some are suggesting it won't be until spring. See above. If it's that late, I might just wait for an M2 model in the fall. The M2 would be slower than the M1X, but it would also be cheaper.

Very happy, been without a laptop for months, waiting for the new models.

Guess Ill be burning the midnight oil on pre-order day. Save me a 14’’ Blue guys.

My early 2013 is ready … for retirement. I had to attach its on the ground otherwise the fans would have transform it into a kind of drone like helicopter mix. And when I see the new iPhone 13 and all the improvements compared to my xs max… I’ m dreaming about these new Mac

We need 64gb / 2 TB w as many GPU's as possible. Same insides for 16" & Mini. As in any busy & profitable company, the cost of the hardware is not significant. Reliability & speed is.
We want the same. I need some minis for my studio, and as you say as many GPU's as possible [I am praying they nail the GPU]. Speed and reliability are the no.1 reasons to buy as you say - these computers are not for browsing YouTube.

If the price is right and I can get a decent trade in or resale value on my 2020 13inch, the new 14 inch should be right up my alley.

Any chance Apple does something to allow for native gaming from PC products? 120 Hz feels more like a consumer benefit than a creative one, especially with gaming in mind. There are also rumors about some type of gaming participation (controller, maybe integration with Apple TV, etc.). However, the actual games available to be played, especially on Apple Silicon, are incredibly limited compared to the PC market.
