The 14-inch and 16-inch will likely have hardware parity.

I'm 99% sure there will be no discreet GPU option.I'm more curious about the discreet GPU options, will nVidia return? We've yet to see an M series processor with a discreet GPU.
At the low end maybe. Not convinced of that at the high end. I think the 16" will get more robust upgrade options. The 14-inch and 16-inch will likely have hardware parity.
IT'S HAPPENING!
Happy purchasing!

I hope you are correct in the pricing, or at least close. However I think the 14" MBP may to jump up to $1999. With Apple charging $200 for 8->16GB in the 13" MBP I feel if the 14" starts in at 512GB/16GB it would be more that $100 more that that 13" MBP ($1699).I wonder about that M1X Mac mini...
Anyhow, here are my MacBook Pro price predictions, vs. the existing M1 models:
$999 - 13" MacBook Air 256 GB M1 8 GB
$1249 - 13" MacBook Air 512 GB M1 8 GB
$1299 - 13" MacBook Pro 256 GB M1 8 GB
$1499 - 13" MacBook Pro 512 GB M1 8 GB
$1799 - 14" MacBook Pro 512 GB M1X 16 GB
$2199 - 14" MacBook Pro 1 TB M1X 16 GB
$2399 - 16" MacBook Pro 512 GB M1X 16 GB
$2799 - 16" MacBook Pro 1 TB M1X 16 GB
It all the hype but when it’s announcement there will be a lot of moaning, I can see it now, apple has a way of letting us down recently
I am with you, no proprietary charging ...I may be in the minority here, but I hope that MagSafe does not make a return. As much as I liked MagSafe, I much prefer the USB type C charging port over any proprietary ditto.
I think the hype will be better than the event; the way Apple is going I’m expecting a let down event
If it is not a 120hz display im not gonna be happy
Well, you just seem determined to not be happy about the event. It all the hype but when it’s announcement there will be a lot of moaning, I can see it now, apple has a way of letting us down recently
Plot twist #2…. They present a new Apple WatchPlot twist! Everyone thought this would come later. But sooner is better! Niiiice!
Is it possible that the the GPU built into the M1X will outperform what's currently available as discreet GPU options on the intel 16 inch MBP? I just can't imagine a computer geared towards professional video editing and grading that lacks a discreet GPU, but I haven't tested what the M1s can do in terms of GPU yet.I'm 99% sure there will be no discreet GPU option.

I honestly think I might just keep my M1 Air, it does everything right, so why replace for something much larger and size
Same here. A new M1X MBP would be a great piece of candy, and is something I was planning on transitioning to from my M1 MBA.
But in the almost 1 year that I've had my MBA, it has been a delight to use. Every. Single. Day. It's fast, compact, weighs little, has a decent screen, great keyboard, and a long lasting battery. Zero issues.
No need to upgrade for me.
lol Apple Watch Pro with flat sides.Plot twist #2…. They present a new Apple Watch
Because apple has been a big let down recently from everything they releasedWell, you just seem determined to not be happy about the event.
In my original post in another thread I hedged a bit. I don't think the 14" would be as high as US$1999, but I said it could be $1799-$1899.I hope you are correct in the pricing, or at least close. However I think the 14" MBP may to jump up to $1999. Note that a lot of a lot of professional video editing functions have been off-loaded to hardware acceleration, so that fanless M1 MacBook Airs are sometimes outperforming Core i7 MacBook Pros in video editing. Is it possible that the the GPU built into the M1X will outperform what's currently available as discreet GPU options on the intel 16 inch MBP? I just can't imagine a computer geared towards professional video editing and grading that lacks a discreet GPU, but I haven't tested what the M1s can do in terms of GPU yet.
To kneecap Google, who has a big presentation that will now largely be ignored on Tuesday. Why Monday tho?
Remember how iPhones were always getting thinner and thinner under Jony Ive and miraculously, when he left, with the iPhone 13, all of the iPhones got beefier batteries and...get this...got fatter?!?!?!?The only thing that I may moan about is if they retain the same 720P webcam. (And I won't be surprised if they do since I think it's actually limited by the thinness of the lid).
