Google are doing theirs on Tuesday.

That's nice of Apple. :)

Though Apple sells about as many Macs in one quarter as Google sells Pixels in an entire year.

Google should have had an event last week. You don't want to have your event anywhere near an Apple event. Especially the day after.

Everyone will still be talking about Apple on Tuesday. And Wednesday. And Thursday. And Friday. And through the weekend. Etc.

Google will be drowned out.

Soooo, not to be a killjoy (but absolutely being a killjoy), there’s nothing about that announcement that says anything about… Macs.

“Panel suppliers are the same between the iPad Pro's and MacBook Pro's - LG Display and Sharp. Expecting similar technology - oxide backplanes, miniLED backlights and 120Hz refresh rates. MiniLEDs, 100% confirmed.”

Will be getting the 14 inch macbook pro for sure..have the 2018, 13 inch now and will be upgrading..I think apple dropped the trade in value for it recently figures :(..of course the event is happening the same day as my endoscopy so wont know anything til I get home

I love these events. But increasingly, the highlight is seeing how many rumors were false and how far they were from the truth.

Apple rarely specifically mentions products that will be shown off in their invites. You have to infer...and when they mention "Unleashed," they have to mean unleashing the power of the Apple Silicon for sure! It is strongly implied!

FINALLY. Been holding onto my retina MacBook Pro from 2012 for so long! Even better if I do not have to sacrifice my HDMI port, which I currently use daily
You lucked out. The 2012 is my favorite machine ever, but mine died unusually quickly after only six years. My 2018 workhorse is still "fine," but it's the first MacBook Pro I plan to hand off to the kid after only 3 years (I usually go 6 years between upgrades). I'm sure he'll get a lot of good use out of it, but I've been salivating and saving for the new silicon since it was announced.

I'm still holding out hope for new consumer-level displays. There were reports in February that Apple was woking on them. The current LG monitors at the Apple Store have a 1-2 week shipping time, just like the 16in MBPs.

Sigh. It's probably just supply chain issues.

But I can hope. Otherwise my Thunderbolt Display will last me a little while longer.
