My AT&T on contract 6S was unlocked successfully using a different number on my account!

Lucky, I'm on two year contract, I've been trying current customer, three different numbers on the account that's not mine.

Keep getting denied. "You haven’t fulfilled your service contract." and "This device is not eligible for an unlock at this time."

I paid for my 6S in full from AT&T and they denied my unlock request since my number is still associated with my old phone which still hasn't been fully paid for

That doesnt make sense.
If this 6S is paid in full then they have to unlock it.
They will not unlock the old phone if its still not paid off or under contract . But by law they have to unlock this 6S if its really paid in full.
Call and ask to speak to a supervisor.

Nope, still on contract. I suggest just keep trying with different phone numbers!

All 4 of my lines are on contract, and I tried entering the 2 that I used last year to get iPhones and got instant denials as soon as I clicked the link in the confirmation email. I was hoping to get my wife's 6s unlocked.

Update: Tried entering all 4 phone numbers and got denied immediately every time.

Perhaps try a friend's phone number and see if that work.

Tried with my phone number for my 6 Plus and got denied. Tried with the number associated with my iPad Air 2 and the IMEI for my iPhone and got approved! Just need to get home and backup/restore them I will be good to go!

No real plans of leaving AT&T since I'm not having service issues, but the freedom and the possibility is nice to have.

I have never had a phone unlocked before in my life. What would this do for me and what is the process with it (see people saying using a different number?)

you can take your phone outside the USA and pop a local SIM in there instead of paying AT&T international roaming. or move to another carrier in the USA with the same phone

Oh Alright. Now will the apple warranty still be in affect if you unlock it? I am looking at purchasing it in the next few weeks and wouldn't wanna mess anything up lol

Two week old 6S+, unlocked on first try. AT&T Next 24.

Update: Went ahead and unlocked my wife's 6S too. Also unlocked of first try, and on AT&T Next 24.

I think the NEXT customers have an easier time unlocking than us contract folks, I know it can still happen to contract customers, but I haven't been successful. In fact, they have denied me on phones that qualified and had to do investigations to unlock them.

lucky! Wont work for me on Next. I tried even the ipad number.
me either, entered my number and the imei no go since my number still has $500 left on next, immediately tried it with my husband's number and it got approved almost instantly.
