Thanks OP, this just worked for me.

I just bought an iPhone 6 64GB (AT&T) off swappa last week. Owner claimed he bought it on his account via 2 yr contract.. figured I'd try it anyway and BAM- approved in 24hrs

Not like it matters since I'm using it on AT&T and dont plan to travel or switch carriers.. I just like knowing its unlocked ;)

Higher resale value. I sold my 2 iP5s for about $50 more than I would have if they were locked to AT&T. ymmv.

No.

No, you can b/u through iTunes, reset the device, restore from the b/u thru iTunes and you will get the congrats you are unlocked message.

Well I gather backing up in iCloud and then wipe and restore iOS in iTunes and then restore backup from iCloud would yield the same results.

Yes. After the restore is complete in iTunes, you'll receive the unlock message in iTunes. You can restore your backup either way.

Success

Tried both current customer and GoPhone options and both requests were successful. Got both email messages in less than 24 hours.

Now my iPhone 6 Plus is unlocked and it's only the 4th month of my renewed traditional 2-year contract (not Next or Mobile Share) with AT&T.

Thanks for the tip!

mine is not working. it gives me that you havent fulfilled the contract! tried it as current customer as well as the go phone.

tried 10 times, same thing

Unfortunately, your unlock request was denied because:
You haven’t fulfilled your service contract.

Still waiting for my third try of the prepaid option. Been a day and a half! Hopeful!

Ugh denied again.. Just gotta keep tryin I suppose...

Make sure you check your email immediately after submitted on the website for a confirmation email that has a link to have to click to confirm you requested the unlock. Both of mine went to my junk mail. But literally seconds after clicking the link I got the email with unlock instructions.

Edit: both of my iPhone 6 units are first time NEXT plans that I received at launch of the 6
