But but my rumor mill pals and pundits last week (and DigiTimes specifically as the source) told me the new MBPs had been “delayed once again”! I’m disappointed in the leaks community lately!

I was thinking that too but I think it's MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. I don't see Apple shipping both the 14" or 16" to the reviewers. It's just a difference in screen size.

Also, I will only upgrade if Apple releases a MacBook Pro in Midnight color. Otherwise, it's a big NO-NO.

As nice as the color looks, if it's like the M2 Air, it'll be prone to scratches and scuffs of the color before long, which would just be a crying shame.

Yes, but Apple will name these 4nm as they did with the iPhones

And I will never get tired of saying that these monikers are just marketing names. Maybe not right now, but a few years ago those chips ended up having equivalent transistor densities as Intel chips even if Apple called them "10 nm" and Intel "14 nm".

Also, the only chip (Apple or otherwise) being produced on TSMC's 3nm node in 2023 will be the A17. I feel like a lot of MR members are going to be really disappointed when the year comes and goes and it's only the iPhone 15 Ultra or whatever that gets it (and performance improvement will probably be barely noticeable on an iPhone lol)
this is so true, and it is so funny the amount of threads where people are convinced apples going to switch the entire Pro line of products to 3NM by June.
The Macpro and MacBook pros for 2023 will both be based off of 5 nm or 4 nm, whatever.
And Apple will absolutely not under any circumstances introduce a “M3pro/max” before a basic “M3”.

Granted, Intel and AMD have released impressive products [including the 13th Gen mobile at CES], Apple will always have the upper hand on

1. General TDP
2. Unified RAM speeds [DDR6 at 6000Mhz]
2. SSD Speeds
3. Heat management
4. Throttle management
5. SOo much More.

As much as I do love the new 13th Gen Laptops with RTX 4090 mobile, the MacBook Pro 16 with M2 Max will still outperform.
Even in graphics? let’s see. Nvidia rules the roost, not to mention CUDA. 4090 laptop will likely be just slightly slower than a 4080/4070 Ti desktop. Will be amazed if the M2 Max gets close, but lets see. Granted, the 16in MBP will be half as thick as a 4090 laptop.

This is an absolutely amazing rumor, I hope it comes true. Because I was almost going to buy a Macbook today, and I didn't get it because I didn't have time.
If it's not tomorrow then im sure it'll happen within the next 2 months. Try hang on on for the new one coz I would be kicking myself if id brought one then a few days or weeks later there's a new one out, no matter how little an upgrade.

What if? You'll spend the rest of your days wiping off fingerprints. It's a nasty color for those who like to keep their equipment clean. A MBA M2 in midnight passed my hands and I couldn't touch it without leaving visible fingerprints all over the thing.

For folks still on intel? Yeah, this makes nice all around package for a 5 year machine rather than wait for M3 (assuming they don't need intel-only workload support).

But if you're on any M series machine, even for folks chasing latest/fastest, this is likely to be a very minor upgrade. That may actually be a good thing - they can wait for the M3 in 12-18 months, and not shut down the supply chain - leave these machines for the intel upgraders.

Well if it’s prone to visible fingerprints then the skin is too oily. I recommend washing hands 🙌🏻 for at least 20 seconds with good dial hand wash soap (4x). In addition, we have an Apple Polishing Cloth to remove those visible fingerprints. Apple released it in 2021 for a reason.

All jokes aside the Midnight color is a beauty. It’s too beautiful and dead stunningly gorgeous. I’m tired of seeing space gray (which is not fully completely black) and silver.

I want Apple to Think Different. Point, blank, period

Update: The new MacBook Pros are imminent, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Is this the same Mark Gurman who predicted no major updates in the near future?

Seems like sometimes he is just making noise without a real insight.
That’s exactly what I was thinking too. How come he didn’t chime in on Sunday? Yet he was talking about Micro-LED Display. He wrote a whole article about it. Something Mr. Kuo predicted. I’m not sure why he even chimed in today with the word “imminent”. Just playing it safe. 🪠

You should know the answer to that…

It would be awesome if we had more color options (doubt it) and wifi 6E (likely). I'm not gonna get one because I already have an M1 MBP and can't really justify it but a great upgrade for many.
