I'll believe it when I see it. Apple hasn't had a history of raising iDevice prices from year to year and I doubt they'd start now, especially with cheaper Android tablets like the Kindle Fire gaining some traction. I suppose it's possible that they'd continue to sell the iPad 2 at a cheaper price, but even when they've used this approach with the iPhone they haven't bumped the price of the newer model. The iPhone 4 had a retina display, much faster processor, new design, etc., but retained the same price point.
Again, you cannot compare the iPhone to the iPad. While the subsidized price of the 4 stayed the same, it's MSRP was $50 higher than that of the 3GS. So Apple DOES have a history of raising iPhone prices. Whether price increases become something we see with iPad upgrades has yet to be seen. One new revision certainly isn't something you can use to predict upcoming releases.
