Personally I didn’t mind when they removed the headphone jack from the iPhone as I primarily use Bluetooth headphones or would use the adapter.
My use case on the iPad is a little different. I use it for music production and DJing. I’m sure I’ll be able to use a dongle if they remove the headphone jack (which I use for audio output into a mixer) but that does mean I won’t bee able to charge it at the same time, which is occasionally a problem on a long set. I know there are dual-adapters out there but the quality is generally pretty poor with crosstalk between the power and audio lanes. I hope Apple introduce their own dual sound/power dongle this time around.
