Why not just call what it really is iPhone Xs Profit or iPhone Xs $$$.

Hope it's more than just a bigger more xpensive iPhone X and they modernize iOS and made Siri smarter.

No no no, they need to fix iOS so it can get the basics right first, just like iOS 10 did... they don’t need to do anything else but that!
Siri they could actually make relevant though.

Yeah I had it in my head that the model year would be included like they do for iPads and Macs. But it didn’t make it to the page for some reason!

You would be using last year model 4 months after it is released. I'm using an iPhone 7. I like this name better than "2016 iPhone" !

Totally agree with this. Not only would it solve the naming confusion this year, but every year going forward. I mean come on, can you imagine buying the iPhone 14Xs Max? Nope.

I was really hoping Apple would decide this year to finally abandon their increasingly cumbersome iPhone numbering scheme. Instead it looks like they’re going to make it worse!

Not sure if I buy it, sounds pretty terrible. No reason to overthink it this much. It’s ultimately just a name though and makes zero difference in my purchase decision.
