Defame Apple?

Hardly...

Defame the iPhone 6/+? Maybe.

Look at what you wrote and tell me where the gap in logic is. I'll wait...

EDIT: On your edited in comment, your estimation of my position is incorrect and is, in this context, a blatant red herring. My credibility isn't at issue here. I'm not the one on the board promoting my anti-Apple site and pretending to be objective.

No ulterior motive he says as he promotes his web site which is designed to defame Apple.

You have an agenda. You are not objective. You have no credibility here.

hear hear!!!

a CLEAR agenda even though he refutes it...

LMAO, well thanks for at least admitting it. Not sure if you're helping your case any.

I'm not the guy with the site... - just fyi

He is pointing out potential flaws. If you want to call that defaming, go for it. I can see a potential argument.

He doesn't address any other product.

It isn't an attack against Apple.

It's an attempt to keep track of a (potential) defect in the device.

Nothing is conclusive.

----------

I want to be an informed buyer.

If there is an issue, I want to know.

I appreciate what oneofthenine is doing.

If it doesn't turn out to be anything? Apple won't be harmed by a little site showing pictures of bent iPhones.

But... What if it does turn out to be a real problem?

Well admission is the wrong word but your post in reply to Surf Monkey's certainly helps to conclude what's really going on around here. There are a lot of new accounts here with agendas.

Here you go again with this new account mumbo jumbo...

I think we addressed this on another thread.

I love my iPhone 6 plus. It came in perfect condition. I don't have a complaint about it at all.

If it is a real problem this is what will happen:

  1. Apple will replace all bent phones.
  2. Apple will say it is an isolated production run not affecting all phones.
  3. The above may or may not be true.
  4. A silent fix will be put in place to fix all future phones.
  5. People on MR will continue to have dubious agendas and others will continue wearing their tin foil hats.
  6. People on MR will argue for arguments sake.

lol, you guys are funny.

Of course everyone is entitled to their own interpretation. I am a happy mac and ipad user and would certainly buy newer models again when released.

If you understand what defamation means then you would know it would involve spreading false information. I have passed along what users send in without much opinion or comment on my part. I think the thing to realise is that these phones all bent and when I have been able to communicate with the poster they are normal, regular people who are quite upset about it. I have my opinion about the bending issues that seems to be shared by quite a few other people here. You guys clearly disagree and that's absolutely fine, but try to avoid attacking others.

Here you go again with this new account mumbo jumbo...

Yes, of course. It's just "mumbo jumbo." Never mind the fact that practically no one here with an account older than about a month seems to be having any issues with their phone or has any hysteria surrounding the supposed bending "issue."

That supervisor is a spy working for Samsung!

Or he is lying to customers to make them feel better!

Amirite?

I understand exactly what defamation means. Guess what? We're not in a court of law right now. You can't slither out of bias charges by trying to lean on strict definitions. I'm using the word in the colloquial sense, not the strictly legal. My point absolutely stands. Your site is not intended to provide an objective viewpoint. You included the original Unbox bend in your original count as well as phones intentionally bent at Apple stores. You have a clear, blatant agenda. Talk is cheap but your actions speak much louder than your words. Your intent here is to spread your campaign of defamation against Apple while promoting your site for personal gain. You are not credible or objective.

Re: My phone bending in case thread

The apple supervisor just called back.

They are shipping out a brand new phone to me within 48 hours.

he said that a few iPhone 6 plus have had quality control issues and that these phones have had structural damaged from new. And that these phones will be prone to bending with little effort.

This is exactly what I and many others on MacRumors have been saying for weeks.

A few vigilant members here have noted that some of the iPhone 6 Plus' were coming from the factories bent. Personally, I observed a gentleman unboxing a bent iPhone 6 Plus in the Apple Store.

This also explains why it's damn near impossible for other 6 Plus owners to bend their devices, even when they try.

I have no issues with my phone.

Nor is my account more than a month old.

Nor have I given any input as to whether I believe that the bending is a big issue.

I stated that if there is an issue, I want to know about it.

And I stated that oneofthenine was not defaming Apple as a whole.

Personally, I feel like the phone is pretty sturdy. And it seems like it would take more force than a pocket to bend. This doesn't mean that it is void of all issues.

Despite all this, you throw me into this category in your head of people with accounts less than a month old having "issues with their phone" and involving myself in "hysteria surrounding the supposed 'issue' surrounding bending."

Did you read the comment that went with the unbox one? It was included as he showed it had a slight curve before he did deliberate bending. Is he lying and did that himself? you don't know that.

And where is my personal gain exactly? I pay the site fees myself, I have no advertising nor sponsorship and it takes time to run. ??

i didn't actually count you in that group. Try being a little less defensive.

No credibility. My assessment stands. Go ahead and defend including Unbox. I see you pointedly ignored any attempt to defend including the Apple Store bend too.

he said that a few iPhone 6 plus have had quality control issues and that these phones have had structural damaged from new. And that these phones will be prone to bending with little effort.

They are looking at it case by case basis and will replace if necessary.

He said that the issue is extremely small and that I was just one of the unlucky ones.

So there you go. I was not lying. My phone was already had a defect before I'd even opened the box.

He said that even the case could of been the culprit because of the defect. But until they receive the phone they won't know for certain.

So the bottom line is....

That the iPhone 6 plus will not bend under normal use. Unless you have a defected phone from new.

Amazing customer service from apple. Cant think of many companies that will go to all that effort for their customers.

For all the doomsday neigh sayer fan bois, go ahead and flame me all you like. I don't care. I got the out come that I wanted.

And for piece of mind, I will get apple care +, Just incase I drop it on my living room floor again

Good to hear you're being serviced by Apple. My hunch sounds correct then. I assumed there was a bad batch that went out.

Don't try to bend your phone. If it bends from normal daily use, you'll get a replacement easily. What's so complicated about this?

Nothing. But there is a contingent of people who, for a variety of reasons, feel the need to get digs in at Apple and absolve themselves from any culpability.

You want to claim that oneofthenine has no credibility because he can't prove that the phones weren't intentionally bent.

But if you can't prove that they were intentionally bent, how do you have any more credibility than he does?

Wow!

16 up votes all based on a here-say comment which cannot be verified.

It's true, some people do believe what they want, almost like a religion.

The gullibility on these boards is staggering.
