Everything is just too quiet I'm afraid. They don't need an event for updated 27 inch iMac but maybe for 21.5 they do, not sure!!

We'll see..

And you already get desctop pc's and windows laptops with Skylake processors........i cannot imagine that there is not an iMac update in the (very) near future.

I don't suppose that Campus2 is at a stage of construction where the presentation rooms are complete/usable yet are they?

Oh yeah, how is the progress on the Campus2 by the way? When is the opening?

I ordered an i7/M295X on 9/30. I know it's a year old, but I don't really game, and I'm tired of waiting for a new machine.

Apple gave me a delivery date of 10/12, so I figured with the 14 day return window, that covered me for a good part of October should they drop a refresh.

This morning, my delivery date slipped to 10/16 - 10/20.

So, possibly nothing. Possibly something. Who knows. I'm fine waiting if there's a refresh coming. I'm beginning to think that's the case.

Aussie + US stores showing the same dates too on literally every BTO config (10/16 - 10/19 in Aus). You've made me hopeful again ! :p

Delivery dates for the 27 in BTO retina iMac show on the US store today as: 'Oct 16 - Oct 20 - Fastest' and 'Oct 20 - Oct 22 - Free'.

Delivery dates( on BTOs ) have been consistently 10-14 days out for the past several days now. Possibly an imminent refresh harbinger but several other factors could impact delivery times.

The fun (and pain) of dates slipping is that you can almost conceive any believable reason for it. Like maybe they're just retooling to give the M295X better heat dissipation? Or maybe they're designing a new box so they can fit a complementary baby unicorn inside?

My heart tells me they're stalling to ramp up a minor refresh. My brain tells me I should do my best to stop obsessing over it because I'll be much happier overall.

In the end, either outcome is fine since I'll have a badass machine I've been wanting for a while now.

IMHO you guys are putting way to much credibility on the BTO date thing......

There have to be dozens of reasons why the dates change and slip here or there.
To even remotely equate it to a refresh is very wishful thinking IMHO.

Now if they put a freeze on new orders then you might have something......otherwise it's just a pipe dream.

Entertaining to following this thread but I'm sure glad I ordered my system back on September 10 after the big no-show. Enjoying every minute of my new machine.

Awesome. Now I have a date to look forward to. If 27" doesn't get updated then, I can come up with a different purchase plan.
Yeah, I definitely wont wait more if no 27" is announced alongside 21.5". Which will make me deeply regret not buying the 5K way earlier...in any case, if I do buy the 1 year old 5K, I'll sell it as soon as a new one pops up next year at all costs!

If a refresh does happen, I'm curious what Apple will do with my existing order. Cancel it and have me re-order? That seems most likely. I guess I'll keep it open for now and see what comes of it.

MacRumors says 27" update isn't happening :(
Shoot. In this case I was planning to upgrade to 32GB RAM to hold me over, but I just looked it up and my 2009 iMac is limited to 16. Guess I'm just stuck for a while. :/

8k would be a waste of money for all involved.

I'm expecting 27" iMac at the Apple Watch event at this point.
