Happy and satisfied user here, from Netherlands. I bought a 8TB package from Polysoft for my M1 Studio; must have been the first batch, I think. Very swift delivery, very user-friendly installation documentation.

To me, it looks as if Polysoft has become overwhelmed by the huge demand and has maybe/probably taken on more work/orders than they can manage. This in combination with a few technical(board failures) and political (tariffs) set-backs.

Still, they should make sure that every customer is informed about status and that delivery lives up to the promises made. I'm not quite sure what I would do in today's customers position.

Still, I think it is fair to mention that their product - once delivered and installed - works very good indeed.

Willem
They also delivered the Kickstarter successfully.

However one can understand how people are turning sour over the lack of timely communication and nothing to show for their money.

I read on Reddit that he might have gone through some personal difficulties this summer. Combined with the reported issues with his supplier and co-worker, it seems clear that his business is currently in serious trouble. He’s not replying to emails, and refund requests appear to be ignored.

At this point, I would strongly recommend anyone still waiting for their order to request a chargeback as soon as possible. Based on all recent feedback, it doesn’t look like he’ll be able to ship the SSDs or process refunds anytime soon.

I read on Reddit that the guy went through a sudden divorce this summer.
Add to that the issues with his supplier and his co-worker, and you’ve got the perfect cocktail for burnout.
To me, he’s completely going off the rails. Look he's not even able to answer emails and accepting simple request refund.

I'd strongly suggest anyone to ask for a chargeback immediately. I agree with the answers above, he's not going to supply your SSD, and he's not going to refund by himself. He is cooked.
Even if all these are true I still find it unbelievable for this one bit:
the amount of time and effort for him to take to make life-story updates such as in this thread, he could have easily gone to his web shop portal to click a few buttons to cease taking new orders.
If I were this exhausted and overwhelmed the first thing I would have done is that.

Over Taobao in China, where the same AliExpress sellers do their main business, if even just one unfulfilled order happens, they get review bombed and the platform takes action immediately. I think there is like a 7 days deadline or something, unless the product page very clearly states it is a pre-order with estimated date very very clearly visible. For a seller to have piled up months of orders I think even the government will step in, take away the shop license even.

Indeed, that’s just basic business conduct, or at least it should be. According to his own message, he mentioned having around 290 paid orders pending, and it seems he’s still accepting new ones.
Assuming the 4TB model as an average, since most people go for either 4TB or 8TB, rarely 2TB that could represent roughly €150,000 to €200,000 in pending orders.

Meanwhile, my AliExpress order has already been prepared and shipped it should arrive next week.

It’s kind of a metaphor for how Western companies often struggle to keep up with the Chinese approach to production and logistics. The West tends to innovate , like the owner did, but often fails when it comes to scaling up, industrializing, and staying organized.

My AliExpress order just came in.Finally i can start migrate my stuff. In case some one have questions, ill post updates regards the SSDs in Reddit. The Polysoft Chargeback is in work, i filed a fraud report alredy and hope my money will get back soon to me.

Well, I made up my mind and purchased from the vendor that many people have used here.
For my needs, I chose the 4TB model. I was hesitant to decide on the 8TB model until the last minute because the price difference was so tempting. But then I realized that if I were to resell the Mac Studio in the future, no one would give me more for a 4TB or 8TB model, so I chose something that was truly more useful for my business.
The vendor charged me a lower price directly, which doesn't include VAT and customs fees. I'll pay these costs directly to the courier upon arrival at customs. They explained to me that AliExpress charges VAT directly up to €150.00, and above that amount the courier takes care of it.
So let's see how long it takes.

Does normally take 10-15min when you have the firmware downloaded and just drag and drop it to restore it to the Mac in DFU mode.

@terratoss “Dang, cant find any 3.8 mm‑long T8 screws...”

T8 is the head tool size, not a screw/bolt measurement.
Apple use metric screw/bolt specifications.
Your screw is most likely a M2.5 x 4mm large head screw. It may be 3.8mm, but that’s a non-standard size.

Measured with a calliper a M2.5 thread is 2.37mm diameter and has a thread pitch of 0.45mm - two turns per 0.9 mm.

well it says 3.8 mm‑long.

contacted the seller if he can send them to me for additional charge. For now i secured it with anotehr screw and self made distance ring.

What is saw that the SSD chips are not secured by the "black glue" which apple usually use. Wonder if i should ask my repair shop to add them or not.

@gilles_polysoft Any updates you can share about when orders will finally ship? It’s now over a month longer than the initial promised shipping date for the batch. Just give us a honest timeframe please.
4 months longer than the initial promised shipping date for Batch 3/my order.

I am currently catching up on processing refund requests, and everything is being taken care of.
Any updates you can share about the refunds you said you were processing would be great as well, @gilles_polysoft. I haven't received any response from you regarding my refund or see any update on my order page.
