Whatever, I'm sure it will be fine. There are quite a few people on here who have done this too.

Am I better off picking it up at UPS hub or have them deliver to a UPS store near my house? Cause delivering to UPS store by my house will that still take a long time to do or will it be done first thing?
You will be risking delays if you submit request after request. Hold for pickup then cancel hold for pickup complicates things for UPS. Most mailing systems are antiquated and not as easy as 'undo/redo' with a click of a button.

I’ve never had a problem with a package being held by UPS. In fact, I prefer it. Enjoy your new phone.
I have always hold mine at CC and pick it up first thing in the morning. When you first do it, it will say exception but later it will be all normal. It's a pretty fun experience at my CC, they actually have a line just for iphone pickup lol. The manager literally just calling names.
I have mine hold for pickup this morning. I don't know if shipment will be delayed because it's not stateside yet.(Those got delayed probably hold at anything not UPS CC.) But I do have experience of scheduling the hold at 9pm the day before delivery of my watch and saw it would be delay for 1 day so I cancelled that. I think the UPS representative told me after 7pm it will result a 1 day delay. Just keep this in mind.
Called UPS to hold mine because I will be going out of town in the afternoon. The representative told me it would be available to pick up when the CC opens Friday morning but got nervous when I saw "exception" show up on the tracking. relieved to hear this is normal.
Mine says the same thing. It has an "exception" on the status. I'm trying not to freak out because it's probably no big deal. Scheduled delivery is still the same for Friday but there is a screen saying it will be delivered tomorrow at 6pm. This is probably estimated time it will be at UPS for sorting.
Holding at a UPS store doesn't necessarily mean your package will be delayed. Your package will get delivered to your UPS store during the first half of the day when the trucks are delivering their business packages. YMMV though. In my experience, I haven't experienced any delays.
I think our main one for the east valley is the mesa one, you can view a review page with the date prior to submitting the request.
I noticed last year the package didnt arrive to their stations prior to them being closed so i had to wait until Monday for pick up. I believe they load their trucks and start delivering? I could be wrong...
Planning on holding my package at the the UPS CC but I'm not the primary name on the AT&T account. However, The UPS My Choice account is under my name and lets me hold it, anyone have experience picking up this way? The UPS website says "A government issued photo ID is needed to pick up the shipment. If you are picking up the shipment and are not the addressee you will also be required to provide the tracking number." Anyone in a similar boat?
It makes sense if your driver has you last on his route. My guy sometimes comes after 8pm, which is just pathetic. The later they come, the more you notice the whole thing. When they come late like that you start to jump at every sound; you can't help it! Even if you couldn't care less, they've got you!

I didn’t wanna post this but I was reading this thread and decided that I would give this a try. UPS usually delivers late to my house. I went on the website and changed it. Mind you it doesn’t give you any information before you actually agree to change, but once I did it told me that my new delivery date would be the 6th instead of my original date of the 3rd. I really hope that’s an error... would suck to have to wait the whole weekend because of that hold at cc thing.
Did you choose the original hub it was already stopping at before distributing or an UPS store? The latter would add a delay of a day making it the 6th.
I picked the CC location that was listed at the top of all my choices of UPS locations. I did it on my phone so I hope I didn’t click the wrong thing. It only showed one though. I’ll call them in a few hours to see what they say.
