Has anyone used MyChoice to change the delivery address? I would like to have mine shipped to my office, but I sort of doubt that's possible.
 
Hmm...for what it's worth, this was my chat with a UPS representative today. I don't know for sure whether she's correct, but it looks like there's conflicting information from different UPS employees. :eek:

I also tried to have it delivered to a UPS retail store, but UPS said it won't be delivered until next business day, which is Monday. Doesn't make sense to me, but oh well... And I did the pre-sign for leaving it on my premise and they ignored my request for the 4S, so I assume they will do the same for the 5. I'll just wait for re-delivery on Saturday and not sweat over it on Friday.
 
I just spoke with a UPS rep who said you cannot pre sign for these via my choice and also that even if your package was shipped worldwide express and it says it will be there by 10:30 the commit time is not actually until the end of the day. Was looking at doing the 2 hour window option but that does not seem to be available as of yet.
 
Called UPS and apparently one delivery attempt HAS TO BE MADE before you can pick it up at a local Customer Center. Furthermore, you have to set up the Will Call on the delivery date.

I'm hoping my cancel went through but I'm thinking I'm screwed between the first delivery attempt and having to be at work. I'm wondering what the earliest/latest two hour delivery window is. I might have to pay up for MyChoice premium and do that. :/
 
Interestingly enough, if I try to set up a will call now, it says it'll be available TOMORROW. Tempted to do it so that I can pick it up on Friday but I think 12:01 Friday is safer.
 
Just spoke to the guy at the front desk in my building. Apparently he signs for everything. I'm really hoping the Will Call actually canceled when I canceled it. According to the woman on the phone, she said the cancelation won't show until the box is scanned again, but it still shows as pending. :eek:

EDIT: Now that I think about it, they said they need to attempt one delivery regardless, so I should be OK.

Now, hopefully nobody steals it from the lobby.

Do not Ship to UPS Retail Store, you'll have to wait till this Monday Sept 24th to pick it up..

its better just to wait for it come in this Friday!

Hold on! Just call your local shipping facility. I talked to the front desk lady and she set it up to have it held at the facility... no failed delivery attempt necessary. Don't call the UPS hotline, they're useless.

My local number sent me back to UPS hotline, did find out I can go pick it up after the attempt after 5pm and before 7pm, so that makes me feel better.

My local facility (Maspeth, NY) only seems to have a 1-800 number that directs me to the main hotline. Need to find a legitimate number for it. :(
 
Just did the Online UPS Chat to make some further clarifications;

- If you put in a request at say 12:03am this Friday for your package to be held for Will Call pickup at a UPS Facility, before the first delivery attempt, it will cause a delay in your package being made available!

- After the first failed delivery attempt, then you can put in a request as long as its before 7pm, and possibly be able to pick up your package that same day!

What do you mean by it will cause a delay in being made available?

Will it be available after a certain time? Ideally, I'd like to pick it up @ lunch...
 
Just confirmed with live chat that it's OK for the front desk at my building to sign for it, and that my Will Call request has been canceled. Now hopefully nobody steals it!

When your request for will call has been cancelled did your tracking page change back to normal? Or does it still say "package held bla bla bla"?
 
I think I said this earlier in the thread, but I've had multiple packages held at the local UPS facility via MyChoice requests and I've always had them quote me the next day, but been able to pick it up on the original delivery day. If I were looking to have this held than I would just do it and not be worried about it, but that's just me from my own experience.

You can. It'll cost $5 though. I just moved and I've had the reroute a few packages that shipped to my old address.

Hmmm, mine still won't let me do this. I have a My Choice account and am signed in, but whenever I click "change address" it just brings up the info pane telling me to sign up for My Choice. Presuming I can figure it out, did changing your delivery address change your delivery date?

I've only done it twice, but for those deliveries it didn't. I did them both a few days shelf before delivery though.

Hasn't changed yet. It should change with the next scan. They need to scan it because that orange banner is giving me anxiety.

Thanks Om. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Not great to spend $5, but I won't have to worry about a signature issue or it sitting outside after drop off.

I haven't seen the option to change delivery address, only Will Call or sending to UPS Store. It might not be possible for these shipments. :confused:
