I signed up for UPS MyChoice... but I have not paid $40 for premium.

I did notice... if I check my tracking number without being logged into the site, it doesn't specify a time. Just "Delivers on Friday, 9/21".

But if I track it while logged into MyChoice, it says, Delivers on Friday, 9/21 by 10:30 AM.

It said by "End of Day" yesterday and now changed to the 10:30 AM time. Dunno what to believe.

Same here. It seems to change depending on where I'm viewing it from. Very strange. :/
 
Does having shipment release authorized mean they will leave it at the door? Or does it still have to be signed for?

If you're a member, it will show the shipment release on the package but they will not leave it for the iPhone. They have special terms with Apple that will override your release.
 
I use MyChoice to set the 2-hour delivery window usually, but am already listed as "by 10:30AM" so it doesn't get much better than that.

You won't get it by 10:30, no matter what it says. UPS has already announced that all iPhone delveries will be made by end of day.
 
I just signed up for UPS MyChoice last night, So Yes! I will be planning on having my Package on Hold for Pick-Up at a UPS Retail Store nearby my house

Can't tell if you're being facetious but that doesn't matter. It depends how how close you are to the start of their route.

Well obviously. Someone with "by end of the day" will get their's at 8AM. But he's just saying that UPS has a pre-arranged deal with Apple. They aren't guaranteeing delivery by 10:30 like normal Worldwide Express deliveries guarantee. If it says by 10:30, you might get it at 6PM, if you are late in their route.


My problem is that I don't trust UPS customer service. If I am told that doing it online, then I will be able to pick up my phone at the local center at 8AM on Friday, who is going to guarantee that? What am I going to do when I get there at 8AM, and they tell me "Sorry, it's not available until Monday." "But, I was told on the phone that I could!" Then I have to wait until Monday?

I'd rather wait until 6PM on Friday than get it Monday. I'm going to pre-sign for it, and then pay attention to my tracking all day and rush home when it says delivered.

I'm still hesitant to do Will Call because it's telling me that I'll be able to pick it up on Monday. That doesn't really make sense though, considering it needs to go through the same facility to get to me on Friday. I know people are saying we'll be able to get it on Friday, but I'm still a bit concerned. I guess I'll call tomorrow to confirm that it's the same case with my local facility. :eek:

I was worried too and still am, but I spoke to a representative over the phone and he sounded very confident...
But he also said that this will work ONLY if this "WILL CALL" option request is going to be processed. Once you request it, your tracking page will change to something similar

It looks like this while it's pending, but it should change once it's processed.

ALSO If it doesn't get processed you delivery will go as scheduled. (this is what I've been told) and that is what keeping me calm ^_^ (and my local UPS facility works on saturdays, yay!)

That doesn't make much sense. If it's out for delivery, it's already on a truck. I'm going to call today as well and report back.

I canceled my Will Call request for now. :eek:
 
Just an FYI for everyone trying to pick it up at their UPS facility...
I called the 1-800# for UPS and they said you HAVE to request this via UPS My Choice, so I signed up for an account. Tried to change the delivery option but I get an error message everytime, so I called the 1800 number back and they said "sorry we can't help you."

I googled my local facilities phone number and they didn't even mention UPS My Choice. Honestly your best bet is to call your local shipping facility, I gave them my name and number and they're going to call when the phone shows up, no questions asked. A) don't bother calling UPS corporate. B) calling your local place is easier than signing up for a My Choice account.

My 2 cents.
 
MyChoice for me doesn't allow me to select will call. When I select "change delivery" (whatever that button is called), a pop up shows up telling me to sign up for MyChoice (but i'm already signed in to it)?

Click to sign in on the right side of the pop-up, even though it appears under Shippers.
 
For what it's worth, I just got finished with a Live Chat session with UPS. She told me to wait until FRIDAY to request the Will Call option. She said I WILL get it Friday.

I would really just like to pre-sign and have the driver leave the package at my back door, but I'm worried the driver will use his "best judgement" to not leave it without having someone there.

Here is her exact quote:

The will call option that you are requesting is a assured way of receiving the package on Friday.
 
UPS usually delivers late in the day at my place, after 3:30, sometimes 5:30.

Am I safe to assume that it'll deliver around the same time??? My tracking doesn't say by 10:30...yet...

So essentially, she's saying that people should just wait for delivery, and if it doesn't come early enough, then put in the will call order to pick it up that night? Yeesh...that's genius.
