UPS Shows Some iPhone 7 Shipments Bouncing Back and Forth Between U.S. and Asia

I spoke with apple this morning. They said I should expect the phone today too...the 23rd. So...here I am waiting at home for another day since UPS can't deliver a package properly. And...due to all the freaky package thieves today, I'm for sure not gonna sign a release for someone to leave it on the doorstep to get stolen.

My latest update from UOS shows departure from Hong Kong after the two days in KR. And apple says delivery today. Who to believe? What to believe?

In the same boat. I think it would have been far better if I had only known it was shipping once it hit Stateside, and delivery was imminent. As it is, because Apple CS Reps (1 today and 1 yesterday) have told me it will likely be delivered today, I am stuck at home waiting. Of course I really should trust the UPS website, since they are the guys who are actually charged with bringing the thing over. And according to them, it left HK this morning.

It has had an interesting journey - from china to korea back to china and back to korea, then to hong kong. Wish they had had instagrams of my phone at the different locations, like "Flat Stanley"

Well then, that does blow my theory out of the water!
Makes it a LOT harder to explain why tracking numbers out your shipment at hundreds of miles apart, in minutes. *weird*

Tracking updates are based on the local time where it was scanned. So if if a package is traveling from the hub in Louisville west it could look as if it only took 13 minutes to get somewhere when it was an hour 13 minutes. Or when the phones are in Korea and show updates on 9/23 when its 9/22 where I am.

If the "out for delivery" notice were accurate I would agree with you. I can not tell you the number of times (over 20 at least), that "out for delivery" ended up changing to Exception at 9pm plus. UPS does have the lowest customer satisfaction for a reason.

I bought it outright so there was no activation to begin with :). I've got a return label from Apple already so I just have to slap that puppy on the box when it comes and just ship it right back!
 
My UPS tracking just updated and my phone is now in Anchorage, as of about an hour ago:

This is definitely making me feel better. I hope many of your phones were on that same UPS cargo flight as mine and onto the one heading to Kentucky very soon.

Ours is identical. Hoping for a Monday delivery now. Though I should be glad its actually shipping as my phone is getting to me way before my original shipping date (10/4-10/7).

I wonder what's going on, my matte black 256gb phone shipped just fine and was delivered this Wednesday. Yet these following shipments are having so much trouble getting to us.
 
for those of you who paid for expedited shipping (like i did) check your charge receipt - i was charged $10 less because they said that "expedited shipping was applied to all iPhone 7 orders free of charge"... but this is definitely not "expedited"...

Yes. Apple doesn't have SIM cards

Yeah... it's been shown/told to me about how people get the exact serial # of their device on Apple Care prior to shipping; so that blew my understanding of how it was done.
I am now WAY more impressed with how Apple gets these into people's hands.

But, to be clear: Apple DOES have SIMS; they are even patented, I believe, & called "Apple SIMS"; they use them in their iPads & can be programmed to any carrier.
Further, I was seriously unaware of the whole "SIM already on your account" thing;as I mentioned: it has always been my experience: taking the SIM from your old phone & putting it in your new one.
I thought that if you wanted to use the new SIM instead, you'd have to call your carrier & read off the SIM card number to them; so this was pure misunderstanding on my part.

I don't think Apple defaults to Saturday delivery without an upgrade. Also, my Watch has been there since 4AM ET and it is being held. I wouldn't be too hopeful for a Saturday delivery.
 
This is what I just got on tracking... anyone else got this message saying forwarding it to your ups facility destination?? I hope that means Saturday delivery

No,it will go to Kentucky then from there it goes to your UPS Hub where you live. Probably early next week when you should get it like me......
