Guys, call UPS. I've read a few comments here of people having success. Just tried it myself. Their system is so screwed up. My tracking still says failure in Korea, but the agent on the phone says it is currently on a plane for Louisville KY. Tracking data is just plain wrong. Looks like mine is most likely to be delivered on Monday.

I just tried this. Called UPS and they just told me the same thing I'm seeing online - en route from HKG to ANC.

We ordered 2 phones right at launch. Both the same exact phone. Order #1 went through with no problem. Order #2 finally went through 5 minutes later. Both ship dates of Oct 4-10.

Order #2 email on Tuesday saying phone shipped, delivery of today Sept 23. Probably not going to happen since it's in Korea.

Order #1 email saying phone shipped yesterday. Delivery of Sept. 28th. But not coming from China, but Ontario, CA.

Yes! My 7+ just left Hong Kong, hopefully to Anchorage. If anyone wants to see current UPS flights I found this site with a live feed
https://flightaware.com/live/fleet/UPS

I'm just hoping it will get to me by today. Does anyone have any idea what has been happening in the past couple of days?

(EDIT) Does UPS deliver on Saturdays?

Usually - but for an "Upcharge." I called UPS International - "The Web site shows the most current status. Upgrading to a Saturday delivery is up to UPS Americas." I would NOT hold my breath for a Saturday delivery.

What really pisses me off is the lack of transparency on the part of UPS. A "mechanical failure" on the ground for 2 days - and then the web site says "clearance completed."

I call BS. This whole UPS Situation sucks. I dropped an e-mail to Tim Cook (Tcook@Apple.com) letting him know what's going on - especially in light of his Logistics background and suggested that Apple might want to think about FedEx for the next iPhone launch. Can you imagine how BAD it will be next year for the iPhone 10?

Just spoke to UPS and the rep told me that when my shipment arrives in Kentucky it will be put on hold because Apple screwed up on the paper work. So Apple did messed up a bit on this. And he told me those that packages went all over the place where logged on to a different flights by mistake. But he did tell me that this has happened before when the release of new items from Apple. I guess everything is just to much to handle smoothly and correctly, but you would think they Apple and UPS would of learn by now to do it right......

I called UPS after a "Severe Weather Condition" slowed my shipment. Looking at the weather in Inchon, i guess 75 and sunny stops planes from taking off. UPS didn't have anything to say after I called them out on the weather crap...

Because after taking off, planes only circle around the city until they magically appear at their destination, having bypassed all severe weather between the two points.

Seems UPS is giving various stories to what is actually going on, some claiming it's a "customs" issue etc. The weather delays and mechanical breakdown excuses are blatantly false. I did receive the following email from UPS customer service, it suggests a contractual agreement is at the heart of the problem. It obviously appears to be an issue between UPS and Apple, considering when I called UPS about a confirmation window reversal because UPS was unable to deliver on the originally scheduled delivery date. What was so odd is the UPS rep, immediately got an Apple rep involved. I was like this has nothing to do with Apple, as I am asking for a credit for my "My Choice Premium UPS" account for a service exclusively between me and UPS. I won't lie, UPS is my least favorite parcel carrier. Apple on the other hand, I have come to expect more from. I do not mind paying a premium for their product because they tend to only partner with the best and insist upon a high standard, this is not one of those partnerships. Apple has also "blocked" a thread in their Communities forum that was following and discussing this very issue.
Guess it was too close to home and the truth?

this is exactly our situation/status - at&t 7+ 128 black.
Mine was finally shipped yesterday and to my surprise from Ontario, Cal USA - now in the air somewhere. - could this be apples 'private stock' ? this whole launch has been bizarre .

ohhhh so that's how UPS planes work....guess they ran out of black magic and had to conjure more...
[doublepost=1474647561][/doublepost]I did some airplane nerd type digging and if your tracking status says it just left Hong Kong it will be in Louisville tonight/tomorrow at 1:00 AM on UPS63, and dispersed on ground from there I'm sure. I expect mine Monday/Tuesday.

I called and bitched at Apple. They tried the "Well we promised delivery in October" thing, and I pressed on. Told them I have had an iPhone since the original and this was really bad from a CS perspective. They gave me a coupon code for the following discount:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Apple.

We are pleased to offer you a coupon for use at the Apple Online Store. This coupon is valid until 2016-12-31 for:

$15 off an order of $100 or more (excluding sales tax and applicable shipping charges)
$30 off an order of $200 or more (excluding sales tax and applicable shipping charges)
$45 off an order of $300 or more (excluding sales tax and applicable shipping charges)

So, you guys can try your luck with the same. They told me it will be delivered on Monday.

Thats assuming they stay on the same flight, they may or may not, sometimes they will get pulled to be scanned and then reloaded on another plane, sometimes they will stay on the same play and forward on, it depends what else is in the shipment and if it needs to be unloaded to head elsewhere from anchorage.

I'm one of these people who have had their phone bouncing back and forth between ZhengZhou, China and Incheon, South Korea. It never made it to the US, but is also delayed due to "mechanical failure." The latest UPS statement says, "A mechanical failure has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible. Your package was released by the clearing agency." Sadly, it was due to arrive Monday, but now has no scheduled delivery time. Bad UPS.

I think the point is more that weather along one destination path might be different than the weather along another. It might not be the weather at the destination that's the issue, but somewhere along the way.
However, actual conversations with UPS, and received emails from UPS, clearly state that the posted reasons are incorrect. And many go so far as to blame Apple. To pick up another posters tag....not rocket science.

I think it's adorable how people think they're tracking "their" phone.
Lol, it's like going to get the $10 you deposited in your bank account & being shocked the bill you got doesn't have the phone # you remember writing on it.
With a shipping of this volume- MASS amounts are sent out to major population areas. Then they can slap a label on yours @ the last point possible.
This type of flexibility allows your shipping times to reduce seemingly impossible amounts. It also can make it appear as if your shipment is bouncing all over, as the logistics software updates your item to be delivered from a DIFFERENT batch.

That doesn't make sense since our phones are already registered with our old phone numbers. They can't just ship us a random phone with the same specs. It has to be the specific phone because it's already been provisioned to activate on our existing phone numbers, assuming it's an upgrade rather than a first-time iPhone.

After my iPhone 7 plus was stuck in Incheon, Korea due to the "mechanical failure" for a day, I just got an update stating:

"Your package was released by the clearing agency"
"Clearance complete."

Anyone else get this? Is it finally on its way to states? or has it been here in the states and just got cleared by customs?
Yes got the same this morning.

Call Apple CS and / or Write Tim Cook an email (Tcook@Apple.com) and let them know that you feel UPS / Apple screwed the pooch on this launch!

Be Not Sheep - make your voice heard and let Apple know you vote with your $$$$$$$!

I spoke with apple this morning. They said I should expect the phone today too...the 23rd. So...here I am waiting at home for another day since UPS can't deliver a package properly. And...due to all the freaky package thieves today, I'm for sure not gonna sign a release for someone to leave it on the doorstep to get stolen.

My latest update from UOS shows departure from Hong Kong after the two days in KR. And apple says delivery today. Who to believe? What to believe?

Don't u like tech going around the world ?

If enough people complain to Apple then they'll do something..

I had the same thing with TNT. I didn't bother emailing Tim, I just kept up with phoning Apple, and eventually got sorted.
